Generally you have to ask if you would like to link it to your bank account or something like that. Once you give them the account information and the routing number, they'll put two small deposits in there. Nothing big... like... a few cents. Verify the size of those deposits and you should be all set. I wish I could be more helpful, but I set that up at LEAST five years ago. Sorry hon.

It's quite simple. Do as Wilhawk said above. Link your checking account to your paypal account so you can transfer funds to and from your paypal account.

Now, in order for other people to pay you (aka, send money to your paypal), you simply give them your paypal email address and they will send the money to that address on paypal. It's just like if you manually send money out to someone else. You would select the "send money" button and type in the person's paypal address (email) and then the amount and bingo. Hope that's what your looking for. If not, I can explain it all to you next week when I'm over.
