STREAM IMPORTANTS [as of 9/12/11]
General
WEDNESDAY
2PM through 5PM
( Start time may vary slightly. )
CHANNELS:
http://justin.tv/insanefastone - traditional (primarily what I'll do)
http://livestream.com/insanefastone - digital (or if j.tv is misbehaving)
( The channel I am using specifically will be linked to at the time of the stream. )
UNTIL I CAN SCAN THEM, STREAM PICTURES WILL GO TO MY TUMBLR:
http://insanefastone.tumblr.com
( I will take photos of them with my phone for tumblr, and then post them on DA/FA once I get nice scans. )
RULES, GUIDELINES, AND STUFF TO EXPECT:
- > IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AUDIO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. It's hard to draw and type at the same time, so I prefer to read the chat and then verbally reply to you. I also have music playing most of the time, and it's nice to listen to. ( The only time I really won't be playing music is when there's already something outside - you might not be able to hear it, but I can. and too many different music sources playing at once bothers me to no end. )
- > THERE IS A ~10 SECOND DELAY ON THE STREAM'S FEED. There's not a lot I can do about it aside from decreasing the stream quality (which I cannot do live), but I'd like to avoid forcing people to look at pixels. This also means that when I see your comments in the chat, it's for stuff I did 10 seconds ago. It's annoying and creates awkward pauses when I ask something and then wait for a reply, but it's what we're stuck with (for the most part, anyway). However, it seems that when I type into the chat it goes through to everyone at the same time (regardless of the feed), so if I have something important to say I will do that.
- > Because of the chat issues, I like to put friends of mine on Skype so I can talk with them easier. Don't take it personally if I don't want to add you - if you frequent my streams, I'll be more comfortable with it. I also have a handful of friends who go to the same college as I do, so I might have them in my room as well. People on Skype have to deal with the same video feed lag (but not audio, since Skype is a lot faster), but it makes for a much livelier conversation.
- > IF I SKYPE YOU DURING THE STREAM, PLEASE USE HEADPHONES AND MOVE AWAY FROM BACKGROUND NOISE. This cuts down on feedback and overhearing awkward things (like family drama). You will get some feedback from my end (since if I use headphones people in the chat can't hear you), but we don't want some sort of crazy feedback loop that cycles on forever into white noise. If I get too much background noise from someone I will ask that you go on hold until the situation is resolved. Also, using a headset-type mic works pretty well, since it doesn't pick up as much sound as a built-in or desktop mic (if you do this, please don't play with it - that broadcasts a lot of static to the rest of us).
- > BE AWARE THAT THERE WILL POTENTIALLY BE UNSAVORY LANGUAGE AS I STREAM. Usually from myself, but I try to keep it to a minimum and at PG-13 strength. I know that the j.tv chat has a censor (which I can't do anything about, so don't bother), but people I Skype in should remember that not everyone in the chat is college-age or older.
- > Keeping that in mind, I WILL NOT STREAM ANY MATURE ARTWORK. NONE. DO NOT ASK. Aside from possible bannings, I would prefer not to put up anything of the sort so I can avoid any awkwardness associated with preference, persuasion, or age. I would also prefer that discussion of anything related be kept to a minimum. Please don't make me have to remove you from the stream.
REQUESTS MADE OF ME DURING THE STREAM:
- > I ASK YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Feel free to privately message me (either on DA or FA) about it, but keep in mind that my art time outside of streaming is pretty limited. This mostly means that if (by my maturity rules) I will not stream it, it is unlikely to happen. Likewise, I only have oh so much time to stream, and I would rather fill that time with stuff I genuinely want to draw instead of trying to doodle for anyone who wants it. Don't get butthurt if I ask for an idea and take someone else's over yours - it ruins your chances of me picking you next time I ask for inspiration.
- > Previously covered maturity rules apply, including anything you message me privately about. Sorry, but most things in that category are beyond what I would/could draw anyway.
- > If you come into the stream asking about free arts, I will ignore you. If you persist and/or begin to act butthurt after I say no, I will kick you from the stream. It's annoying, and makes me feel like my time isn't worth anything. So please don't.
- > Unless stated otherwise, you are allowed to repost the scanned image so long as there is a link attached to it leading back to my page. As in, once I get the scan posted you can do with it what you will so long as people know where you got it. Note that I am specifically saying the scanned version - the not-scan I post to tumblr is a stand-in for when I do get the chance to scan things (that, and it's easier to get in touch with me via DA/FA than tumblr).
THAT IS ALL HAVE A NICE DAY.
