And this is the reason that people like me shouldn't own computers. I have no practical sense of how to work them correctly. I've been registered on this site for almost 3 years, and I'm just now figuring out how to work the interface. Please don't laugh too hard when I was a kid there was no such thing as the internet.
So I figured it was about time for me to do one of these journal things. I've had a few people show interest in my cast of characters so I might place some profiles on here later.
Recently I discovered the marvel that is Livestream. A wondrous little application which allows me to watch the dedicated artists that contribute to this site and their craft. It never ceases to amaze me how a few simple lines strewn together with just the right amount of shading and color coupled with a slice of environment turns into a breathless masterpiece. You people truly astound me. Artists, along with their art, are under-appreciated IMO.

(Love the new avi Wyla and the sketch porin *hugs* ) But mostly I just watched and listened threw in a random comment or two while impatiently waiting to post my reference sheet so falvie could draw it. Haven't gotten one yet but I'm gonna keep trying.
I often wonder if people actually read these...
Hmm.. have cash need art maybe I should run a contest, but what kind, and rules, who would judge.. these are questions I must contemplate, but art will be involved and so will money.
I should be in bed.. night folks.

And also agreed with you that artists can be under-appreciated. Some of the artists I know are amazing and I love to try catch any of them on Livestream just like yesterday with

Contest yeah..
hmm well autumn is my favorite season of the year. I love the vibrant yellows, bright reds, and crisp oranges that paint the trees. Not to mention both my birthday and Halloween are in October. (Best holiday ever.. dress up and beg for foods)
I haven't had much time to think about it but I figured cash would be the prize and art would be the submission. I need to see if anyone else has done a contest like this and if so what types of guidelines they used. I want it to be impartial, give everyone a chance.. any ideas?
As for a Contest, if it was something like that I would honestly have no idea about it at all, since the only thing I've done that similar to a contest of sorts was a "Make me laugh, win a Story" which never went down too well in truth, though I never seem to have many people care unless I'm saying something in particular like with my Tooth lately, which still hurts like mad
I'm no good at art and such and most people tend to stay away from those unless the prize is an awesome amount, at least I've seen before such things. I'm not experienced though and not sure who you could ask for help from either
As far as the contest well.. I first thought of offering a prize, something art related for the submitters to hone their craft. maybe a drawing tablet or something. But after speaking with a couple of artists via livestream I was advised that most artists already have these and they suggested money as a prize.
Money.... simple, easy, quick to send, and virtually no postage. So I began gathering intelligence among the artists on another livestream channel that was filled with them. The responses were varied. Most said they didn't or wouldn't invest their valuable time for a "chance to maybe win". Others thought that contests were scams and wouldn't bother with it. So now I'm kinda running around in circles trying to think of something.. argh frustration.
As for the Contest, I was going to say that even for money I had a feeling most would say something like that just for a "Chance" at winning since it feels like they do the work and get nothing from it, if you get what I mean by that, so I understand how why you feel like you are running around in circles
I never enter the contests where you have to "Post a Journal and then Link to this Journal" as I'm not a fan of just putting up any Journal just for a chance to win, I don't like to seem to be desperate for a pic or to be in one
Yeah I noticed some grammatical errors and tensing of verb issues, but nothing major. Did you want a critique of this or was it just for my pleasure to read? I used to work for a couple of publishing companies as a freelance editor.

As far as the contest.. hmm.. I still want to do one. I just really need to think of something good and then get the word out there. Perhaps I need to do a bit more lurking and asking.

As for the contest again I would suggest that for sure, make sure to find out what you can
Like you I tend to write what I like and when I like.. I do it for fun and as a creative outlet.
Maybe I'll put up a journal just about the idea of a contest and request feedback from the community and see what comes of it.
I may have had Commissions and Requests lately but each one allowed me to do things my style with their ideas
And like I've said before, that's a good idea too, just see what happens
