Does the banner do anything to any of us? If you're being mad about this, then.. honestly, you need to chill. This is just like the Fat Bunny Week and the Thanksgiving Banners from before now. They're just something playful that is no big deal. The only reason it should ever bother you is if you let it. Its everywhere. Oh well. It does nothing to you in a profound way.
Take a deep breath, cool down, and think about what -really- is wrong with the world. People are dying, and you're getting upset over a banner? The only reason I've ever felt ashamed to be on this site (which is a very rare occasion) is whenever people have gotten offended over something so small and insignificant.
We, as furries, are a minority. When we divide ourselves into fractions like this, we're just weakening the familial bond that we should feel. Dislike things, be mad, just don't get attack others over it. We're all weird, and we all enjoy things that others don't like. By assaulting others, we are being hypocritical. Pull yourselves together, my friends. Life is a battle, and there's no point making it harder for each other.

This is more than just "chill out"
This is: "Where the fuck are your priorities?"

I don't like MLP, I have my reasons, but people who like it, go ahead, not my concern.
BUT (this will prove my point), you have trolls come around and troll things, and people go "if you don't like it, don't look at it". Well, in the case of the banner, you can't NOT look at it because its there. I was fortunate enough to see the page on my cellphone at the time, so my computer hasn't been updated yet, and im not pressing F5 to do so, but for those people who don't have that option, its becoming a pain most likely, and they can't do anything about it unfortunately. But for the people who do enjoy MLP, their happy.
I think in times like this, people might wish there was an option that allows you to not see the banner.

(sorry for the long rant... i just don't like the fact that furs are so quick to hate on each other for such small things....)
as for me, I kind of dislike alot of things, specially something people make out to be a big deal. MLP, FPS, 'popular' tv shows and music, as well as games, the list could go on. Im one of those guys that, if you don't bring the stuff to me, I won't bother with it. And the site does have alot of cool things on it, hell, its an awsome place to meet new people as well, talk, and possibly be able to meet new friends in real life to hang out with, so it might even help you get out of the house more often too.
no worries. I tend to rant alot, usually when something bugs me, or some one brings to me something I don't like, and they just go on and on about it. But that doesn't mean I go "BAM! enter rage mode! And stay in it for 3 days". I just take it maturely and try to get away from the topic, or do something else to change the subject, and if the people don't get a hint, then I'll chase them off with an obnoxiously large lollipop x33
