Isn't MLP cub?

I've watched the new MLP and personally I thought it was a cute kid show. I don't so much care to watch it but for what it was I thought it did have good writing, it got the characters across well and had its own style to it. I'm not in the target audience and it's not my kind of show, but from what I seen I thought it was good.
That aside, I'm painfully aware how many people like it. Ok, cool. And I've seen adult images made of it. Again, to each their own. Now unless you already have the FA banner blocked, you'd have noticed it has been changed to Brony Affinity. I'm not sure why, my guess was a Pony con or because of a new season starting. But it helped draw this to light all the more that, aren't they technically cubs?
For my answer, I went to wikipedia which has a good list of information about the show, some of which I did find really interesting even not being a fan of said show. From what I read, the main characters ages are in human years between 12-18. Note that the legal age differs from state to state but I believe FA goes with the more common 18 years. This information can be found here, in the last paragraph in Premise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lit....._Magic#Premise
I don't believe there is any official site to get an actual age on the characters. But some characters such as Spike the dragon was mentioned to be a baby within the first two episodes. This makes him a cub, correct? Now if the ponies age range is from 12 to 18, its fair to assume more than 1 falls under the 18 range. Which would make them cub.
If this is all true, why is adult images of the show allowed when FA has a clear and strict ban on cub related material?

FA+

I don't have the MLP Banner....I still have Priest Raven's School one.
Loser: FA
Nice man X3
Honestly think the staff just doesn't want to deal with the issue because a lot of people would whine and throw a fit if they couldn't upload porn of it. :I
I do feel you might be correct on this, however I am aware that the admins can not catch every image that passes through the gates. But unlike other shows where they made an announcement that adult images were no longer allowed, the Sonic series coming to mind, nothing has been said about this show. I feel if they're going to bring it front and center, it should be addressed.
Like I said, I asked on the forum, but it just turned into a huge argument about ferals and talking characters and Digimon, Pokemon, Spyro and whether or not drawing porn of a show meant for 10 year old girls makes you a sick person. Never got an answer from any higher up. Maybe ask Neer directly?
Either way, it's too undefined to take an irrational action at the time. Unless Hasbro confirms their ages, they will be however people think they are.
This is how I could see it being a grey area.
Not that I'm a fan of porn of these characters or anything, I just felt like defending people for what they like when it really isn't against any rules if thought out.
Ironically I googled Legal age for sexual consent...14 is the youngest a person can have legal sex in Canada. So if they are 14-18 by Canadian standards, they can have sex. So I don't know if it would be considered "Cub" to them.
At this point I question the acceptable definition of being labeled a "cub".
Not to mention the younger ponies still attend school, while the main characters do not. Thus saying they've completed school and that is usually at an adult age. (The only exception being Spike, but that could be because he's a dragon, and a rare one that was nurtured by ponies as most are not intelligent enough to even talk.)
It's basically the Spongebob syndrome. An adult character that seems younger than he is due to the way the cartoon was made.
However theres no premise here for banning all MLP on here, on accounts of the original creators suggested character ages. Thats just digging for excuses. Whats the age of most pokemon characters i wonder ? :) quite often see them depicted on here (sometimes in depraved manners too), and im pretty sure the official account puts them down as being below age ...so its a moot and rather silly argument unless we go for everyone :)
I guess it's just the public perception at that time that makes it acceptable, and as always that viewpoint on it's acceptability can change on a moments notice.
Isn't there some new rule as well that a flaccid penis is unacceptable as well if the character's age might be questionable? Apparently not being erect means it can be cub too ::rollseyes:: I remember some artists doing exactly that and it in short, ruined the piece.
I dont know about the last part, I would have to look at the TOS again for that to be sure. I'm behind on what the TOS says, but I doubt few take the time to read it to start with.
I don't think it's in the TOS yet but I know I've seen several pieces of artwork with the artist griping that they had the previous version yanked because a flaccid penis was some kind of indication they were underage. I gave up reading the TOS, it changes too much. I just read on the revisions they notify everyone at the top. Latest ones that I am not fond of are the limits on photography and how many is acceptable and if you have photos of fursuits you have and if they are your own, etc.
It's kind of funny that I read how FA is trying to be this and that and everything furry but I find they spend more time and resources excluding parts of the community.
One admin a long while ago even told me the fansubbing we do doesn't belong on FA either. >.>
At times I do wonder about the future of FA, for better or worse.
I think as long as fansubbing is kept to journals theres not much that can be done against it is there?
I've been here since on FA version 2 since 2005 I've seen the rules rewritten so many times. I remember having pieces pulled myself under the user created content rule as well. I have/had a gripe of having a screenshot submission option because most of what falls under screenshot is unacceptable here so why not just remove it.
I remember having one piece that Dragoneer even told me was OK and if anyone asked me about it, that he said it was OK. Months later it was pulled and I told them this and was told that Dragoneer shouldn't have told me that and he isn't really in charge.
I've seen so many sites come and go since 1995 and if FA doesn't stop with these antics they will end up being one of those past sites.
A little perspective.
Yes if the ponies/horses were actually 18 years of age, they would be quiet old indeed and far from being cubs! lol :)
I was just wanting to point out a flaw since they've put bans on other adult works on shows such as the Sonic series and until this point I was under the full impression that the main cast was all children to begin with. Now I see it a little differently, but the dragon is still very much a cub so will need to be reported like any other image.
Personally, I would just like to see the ban lifted, because I don't really see the point. If the ban was on images of HUMAN children specifically I guess I could understand (though I would still be against it) but furries aren't even a real thing. You can't even pretend that someone is being victimized.
Plus, as has been pointed out, most of the Ponies live on their own and have adult jobs. the only ones who don't are Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack, but Pinkie Pie is living with the Cake family as an apprentice working at their shop and Apple Jack lives with her Grandmother, big brother, and little sister to support her family. The only thing about them that seems "young" is their interests and hobbies, and I know plenty of 30-somethings who have the same kinds of hobbies.
Personally, I see the ponies as adults, and even if they weren't I think the cub ban is pointless. And I'm not defending them out of some personal interest for pony porn as most of the ponies have vagina's and I'm avers to that.
Either cub went or the site went basically.
Regardless I don't stand by it.
Yes, spike is a "baby" dragon, but it doesn't mean that dragons have an equivalent adolescent-to-adult development to humans, just like you can't convert a dog's age to human years by multiplying by 7 and saying that he's now "legally 18" at 2.58 years old. When dragons live for thousands of years and can be considered a "baby" for decades, can you determine at what age he can sexually consent? No, because not only is it irrelevant to the show, but more importantly because it's a fantasy world where human developmental rules don't apply. If Spike's development and lifespan were to be converted to human years, "baby human" Spike would have learned to reason, read, write, speak fluently, hold a job, fall in love, and pretty much take care of himself by the time he was two weeks old. 'Baby dragon' doesn't equate to 'baby human', and the number 18 doesn't mean anything to such a creature. The same thing could be said for the ponies, or any other non-human fantasy construct.
I find it pretty ludicrous that this is an issue, because the whole reason that there is a 'cub' ban is to protect human children from those who would prey on them. (Whether such bans do anything to help at all is another debate.) Most of the characters in MLP don't act like human children, and they sure don't look like human children... how is banning erotic pony art helping children at all?
