Be careful what you agree to do

The internet has far reaching arms. I went to Eurofurence this year, and it was a blast. While there, I kept hearing from various people that EZWolf was shooting a music video. I was invited and so, naturally, I went to investigate.
It was a lot of fun. The people were really awesome and we all had a great time while filming it. No regrets there. EZWolf and Tillikum were really great to us, and Cheetah for lending us his room.
We were all told that the video would be a tasteful, M-TV style music video with a particular song used as the background. We danced, we posed, and some of the group did a bit more, but none of it more than teasing. At the time, I was worried that it may be seen negatively by many given the seemingly constant influx of sexuality that betroths our fandom in general. Really, it was just something 'fun' to do.
I now have seen it, and I see it's an age-restricted video. It's now been subsequently pulled from youtube by EZWolf, and reposted by others illegally. It's also being trolled and talked about incredibly negatively by some people I respect. I should have known better than to involve myself.
Nothing against EZWolf and the group who did the video. They did nothing wrong... I guess. They just wanted to make a music video and they happened to make it 'realistic' in the sense that it was... riskee. I am frankly rather flattered that I was asked to be included! I was also used very minimally and I think I was even excluded from certain shots intentionally (thank you). However, I do regret my choice in going ahead with it, regardless. Believe me, and you can ask anyone who was there, I was on the fence about it even before filming. I finally told myself.. whatever. Have fun. Do something different and out of your norm.
*sigh*
Just be careful of the things you do at cons! That's all I can say. I just hope I don't live to regret the choice even more later.

FA+

Don't get me wrong the production quality is top notch and it was really well done
but we just have a very bad rap with non-furs and when we start making headway... stuff like this happens. So I imagine some peeps are upset.
See you at RF!
This however, makes me want to make a really good, fun and not adult in any way, fursuit video XD
Pretty much CSI on steroids.
I can't pretend to like this one I'm afraid. I can definitely understand why you're upset.
I appreciate your sympathy dude. It was 100% my mistake though, and I was told very clearly what I was getting into. I should have thought more about it.
Stifling creativity in the sake of 'name' is BS.
People should have the right to be free in what they do with their own creative nature.
I already flat out know, when I have my suit, and the vids I plan on making for what *I* enjoy, will be there for others to enjoy as well. If you don't like it, I really won't give two cents.. I'm doing it for my own creativity, not for anyone else. It's my own outlet.
The video was well made, high production value, and in my opinion, FAR less harmful than anything you'd see on MTV now n' days.. Oh wait, they don't even PLAY music videos any more, so here, have some SNOOKI.
It's a double-standard, but I don't think anyone has a right to say crap about it. Most of it will be hating that they were not involved with their own internal jealousy/insecurity.
Just my opinion. :)
*shakes his head*
Maybe in 10 years, this will be seen as completely innocent. I yearn for that day.
But I don't believe for a second this is going to be the only 'video' of this creative nature out there. I far don't think you, or anyone else have anything to worry about.
What 'image' is this? Being alive? Living like regular people do in Clubs on every street corner in every city every single Friday night?
This is a non-issue in my mind, and I wish others could just grow up and see it for what it is.
You know furs though.. Have to start drama in everything, including anything positive. Specifically anything positive/creative. (The recent MLP fiasco adds to it all). :P
You can argue for or against the vid all day, but all you have to do is read the youtube comments and you'll see what others think of it.
People can say, "whatever, who cares, I do what I like to do" and that's fine.
It's just a giant mag of ammo for the trolls and haters.
The video should have been public from the start. This isnt the 90s anymore, drop the "we're innocent!' act, no one buys it anymore!

I posted it on a furry porn site...
Yet here you are making furries look bad, (here, instead of over there). Im not really getting the distinction, anyone could be given a link, FA is not a private site.
This youtube video makes furries look bad, but websites full of furry porn doesnt???? This shit makes my head hurt
Like I said, there are some other reasons I do not like this video that I cannot say here.
And your 'secret reason' is secret so how can I care about that ?
My thoughts of the video's content it'self, are not relevant. As far as an age restricted label? This is odd. Had this same video been done with normal dancers like in any provocative Madonna video, it would not have been age restricted.
So I would like to know why there is a difference.
As far as damaging your reputation? I'm not even sure which one of them is you. Pretty much all those suits look alike. And to a non furry, they would never even give it a thought about who is who.
One other thing that bothers me about any YT video. How can you just go out and use someone else's music like that? I would think this would cause more problems for the producers of it more than anything else.
It will blow over after a little bit anyway.
Take care.
Anyway! How are you?! :D
Words like music video or M-TV usually makes me hesitate easily in this fandom.
Im not denying that the fandom has its sexual side, but some thing's are just kept better in private. Yes, my FA has gay porn on it and I am suggestive some times but I guess when it comes to completely public things it makes me hesitate.
But again im not here to say hatred things about it, just very uncertain where the video will takes it course as its a public Youtube video.
*hugs* as far things go , you are still you for me =) hasn't changed my view about you at all.
I'm not going to hate on those who were a part of it, you guys were just having fun. If I were to hate, then I'd be making myself one big hypocrite due to the way I dance without regret.
I've been hearing that this video was only supposed to be shown to those that were in it, if that is the case...then the video being posted on YT was not the best of ideas considering nothing is private on there. I know it's marked as "unlisted", but the problem with that is the video can still be spread around if someone has the link to it. Which is exactly what happened since some people were complaining and flat out posting the link to it.
fuck you Booboo.
Thats what your icon says.
Only thing that I found *lame* about it is there needed to be some suiters 'singing' the song, with some back up dancers and what was show was just a background scene or a cut to scene. That would have made it pimp.
Otherwise, just looks like a bunch of furries being well... furries. *shrugs*
Glad to see you are still alive having returned home :p
Hey, wish Blackwolf well for me, ok? And a speedy recovery :(
If there's one thing I've learned about being in the furry community, it's not to take too much offense to the things furs will complain about, or what furry haters and trolls will complain about. As long as you enjoy yourself.
I have to wonder why there was no huge uproar over the furry remake of Dick in a Box? I mean really, unless I just missed it. I really liked that production as well though, very well done! I guess if it was something only done by furs it would be terrible, but because it was a remake of a SNL sketch, it's okay.
I could ramble on but I'll just say I really think people are just getting all upset over nothing. Again. :P
Surprisingly, you're right. No backlash that I saw. Then again, they weren't rubbing all over each other either.
If it was all wrapped up in some artistic expression better, it would probably have worked out better.
You have our support. It is very unfair, though that you weren't entirely informed about the true intentions for the final cut.
Still, I do appreciate the support.
It's a helpful reminder. *hugs*
Lookin forward to seeing ya @ RF!
If it was suppose to remain private, it should have never been uploaded to YouTube.
It should have been emailed as an encrypted attachment to only those who had permission to see it.
History has shown that private videos on YouTube aren't exactly 'private'
Encryption isn't private either once the password is given out.
History? No.. history shows that loose lips sink ships.
1) Furries
2) Trolls
Hope everything turns out okay :) <3
For what it's worth, I still think you're awesome, and I'm sure your friends do too. I understand your concerns about public appearances though, but most likely random people won't really care enough to make this video a big thing. At least I hope so.
*hugs tight*
I am not disgusted in the acts in the video, but that it was posted on YouTube for the world to see. No matter how clean the video was, it's going to look bad for furries.
I never insulted the quality of the video or the editing, but I have said that the subject in the video is trash in my opinion. I think provocative music videos are trash in general. Making a music video can be fun and amazing, but with something like this..? It would have been cooler seeing furries dance around the convention hotel, or outside of it. I don't know, just something less, uh..mature I guess.
*hugs*
Seriously ffs people, simmer down.
And OP, don't worry about it. It was a funny video, it's not like you guys were filmed having an orgy.
.. at least I didn't do a bedroom scene. *shudder*
