For me, it was the fact that like half the imageboards i enjoyed are like 70% fucking pony's now. Pony macros, pony threads, links to clips, pony fanart, everything is fucking pony's now and it's all done by like 10 different people who just spam the shit out of them because they know how irritating it is.

When it first came out, somebody swore i'd love it and begged me to watch it (same guy begged me to watch regular show which is absolutely fantastic). It's an absolutely terrible show, and half a dozen different people i know are always trying to get me to watch "the good episodes" thinking they'll turn me.

I think Twin Peaks is the greatest show ever made, i think everybody should watch the pilot because it almost always hooks them on it. But, i frankly don't give a shit if you like it or not, and i'm not gonna harass you if you don't.

I think after the whole "We're the internet Geova Witness new cult" withered on my contact list thanks to my policy 1 pony mail gets 2 gay bear porn back, coupled with knowing only straight bronies defacing of internet image boards was their second grand sin. I just learned to scroll faster and filter ponies away.

We actually use the term "bronies" very lovingly at our office, and while the shows are always technically for children, we do know and understand the true audience. <3

I like the show and so does my boyfriend. I like Gargoyles and almost every Disney movie but don't like Pokemon or Digimon. It's all just a matter of personal preference.

Giving '6-years-olds-show' as a reason to dislike something is quite ironic on a furry board. Shows and movies with a primary advertising market of kids not only created most furries but provide the inspiration for a heck of a lot of our artwork.

Well i'm ok with people liking the show, and i'm ok believing the show to be great and with a reading level targeted to adult people.

What i don't get is why there's this enormous fandom riveting in the idea that everybody hates them because they love a kiddy show.

In tha last days i read something like 4 "Stop hating ponies" journals and zero "I hate ponies" ones, so i drew my conclusions. Of course my perception of the problem is biased by my watchlist, but for the previous terrible banner i could easily find at least 6 journals of pure unadultered hatred.

Believe me, it's been a very different experience with other watch lists. XD Mine was, interestingly, mostly composed of journals by non-bronies going "WHOA, CALM DOWN" because apparently their watchlists were freaking out about it. It's so weird!

Me, personally, I love the show, but I can think of few things stupider for alleged adults to be arguing about on the internet. ESPECIALLY furries.

I must be some kind of casual brony or something: I like it when people like it, but don't really mind if people don't. I mean, not everyone likes green tea ice cream--another thing in which I delight--but I don't get my knickers in a knot if someone doesn't like it.

Both are essentially harmless, though, so I might get a little frustrated with someone condemning either one without so much as a college try. But that's more because I dislike closed-mindedness than because I feel some displaced need to foist my likes upon others.

I have absolutely nothing against the show, or even its fandom, its the spam that gets to me. Literally i consider bronies the internet asocial-young-male version of Geova Witness.

I haven't seen as much hate for THIS banner as I usually do (one of the artists I was watching left because of Fat Bunny Week) but I also know that the MLP hater were called out preemptively on the homepage, so that might be part of it. I've noticed that a lot of the BAWing people do on this site is because of "special snowflake syndrome" and it's hard to convince yourself your special when people have already predicted your reactions. Or maybe it's that nobody cares.

All I know is I like the show, don't really care about any of the banners that FA puts up, and all the bitching about people bitching about other people bitching is making me dizzy.

I don't think that's the case. Simply the pony craze has always been like this "spam everything pony to death until people annoyed to it can get angry and trolled about it", it's just caturday 2.0 except without the funny, hell even the "nigerian prince scam" emails have more charm and weight to them than the 1000th "take an internet well known meme, paste it on a pony image" thing.

Problem is, like any background noise, this troll-dom is hitting a major roadblock: quickly dropping anger and quickly developed mental filters. I used to get pissed at seeing thread after thread defaced with unfunny pony content, now i simply scroll more quickly.

I guess I haven't been subjected to this because I don't go to 4chan anymore. If it's been spammed out of place on any other sites, I've been lucky enough not to run into it. I'm a fan of the show, and the last thing I need is for the Internet to ruin it for me, so I think I'll steer clear of image boards and most forums.
