And by that I mean its absolutely effin magical that so many adult men can kid themselves in to thinking they are doing anything other than fapping over a little girl's cartoon show. I've heard it all up to this point, that it's some kind of phenomenal remake, that its fun for the whole family, and that it's totally not for little girls? People justify fandoms and I've heard it all before. I honestly could care less about someone digging something, I like some stupid ass shit. But I don't run around trying to justify my fandom to others and sell it for anything other than what it is.
What bothers me more is the sexualization of it. I understand that might sound odd coming from me and some of the weird shit I'm in to. But I actually remember some of the 80s surprisingly enough, I had a sister who loved these effin ponies. And I had a lot of friends who were girls that loved it. Now its back, like so many things from that time, and this time its guys fappin (or 'clopping', as the fandom has a term for the fapping of ponies) to the stuff. If said people have a shred of artistic ability it turns in to a big ol porn fest of the ponies.
Is that odd on FA? I suppose not. Not from an animalish point of view, but I have never been a fan of people getting all super in to children's characters and sexualizing them and then acting as if nothing is amiss. It's just shy of jerkin off on to your little sisters barbies guys. And now we got a banner that is all sportin a fandom that online among an adult community has gained most of it's steam in sexually suggestive or downright explicit content. People can deny it up and down and blah blah the shit out of this journal but the fact will remain that most of the art that pops up in my watches or in browsing is not of ponies frollicking happily and learning life lessons and discovering the magic of friendship. It's of bleary eyed ponies in bed, ponies fucking other ponies, or whatever the hell else people cook up.
Am I gonna boycott the site? No. That sort of thing just generally doesn't -work- here. Basically I can bitch in a journal get it out of my system and be done with it. But seeing as I'm feeling in a particularly vindictive mood for this nonsense I'm going to add a little bonus. Any artist who posts MLP pic of a subtle or overt sexual nature that is on my watch list will be subsequently removed. Never to be rewatched again. Does this hurt the artist? Psh, no. They won't care. But it's a nice way of solving my own problem in minimizing my exposure to something that does nothing but annoy the shit outta me.

I like horse-related porn; with the character I have it would ridonkulous to try denying it. But MLP porn is... squick.

I find this hostile reaction very strange to be honest, though I can sympathise with it. I would think that a fandom such this, which is ridiculed and sterotyped so much would be more accepting of other fandoms. It is the type of reaction that this site has had to somthing as stupid and insignificant as a banner of all things that made me terrified to state that I like the show for fear of being labeled as some weird freak. The fact of the matter is that I like a cartoon and people outside of this fandom have been much more accepting of that. In fact I dont think the pony fandom have had this reaction to furries.(most of the people I have talked to from the fandom are not Furries at all.)
I like the show because its fun to watch, its funny, and the characters are well written. The show while obiously using symbols and other flash tricks is well animated.The stories tend to be corny, but then again it is a cartoon and I like silly things in my cartoons. Anyway I just wanted to say my peace since I watch the show and people on this site seem to be making generalizations about people in the fandom that are rediculous. I have done artwork involing the show but none of it is sexual. Then again most of my art is not sexual.
Before I go I must say the stuff in your gallery is great and your photshop skills have improved a great deal since we last saw eachother. I also owe you a piece of art work from a while ago. Hopefully I can get the free time to finish that walking treehouse, but it is my last semester an things are going to be busy for a while.
However....
You sir are an animator. You sir I know, personally. An appreciation for the show from you is not all that strange as it's basically the field you're going in to, you're not just some dude on the net fappin away..you're someone I figure arrived at the fandom from a very different direction than most. And you pointing out that the work you've done in support of the show isn't sexual at all. This gives you a little more clout than someone sportin a gallery of pony porn who's trying to tell me they're in it for the story.
While I'm not gonna sit down and join the pony circle jerk, I would like you, as a friend... to know I don't think I see you in that circle so you're all good. I don't hate you.

You should keep your eye on me on deviant art as I wont be here as much in terms of art. I am looking for an internship and as you might guess they dont like this kind of art so I had to clean my gallery.
