Some journals are personal, and some journals are business related for Kinzart. For everything else, I don't care.
Okay, Introduction to C++ class is as boring to the point where it truly does compete with the Paint Drying channel (the fourth season). So I am going to spice it up for myself (while still obeying the requirements of the class).
#1. Don't use Windows (SSHing into Linux is okay).
#2. Don't use a GUI IDE.
So my plans for that class, to keep it interesting is to use vi accross SSH to my server named 'elevator' (named such when I received it shortly after getting stuck in an elevator for a half hour at my college campus) running OpenSUSE 11.2. It normally runs Minecraft (which everyone keeps saying that an IBM xSeries 235 server is overkill for such, but I think not!), but I also use it for SOCKS, so I might as well put another use into it.
So far the first assignment went without any issues at all. I still remember the commands for vi so it was pretty fun to actually use it again. Hopefully this will make my class less of a sleeper class for this semester while still keeping it easy.
Of course, if we dive into any Visual Studio specific stuff that I have to do, sadly I'll have to stop doing this personal challenge, but until then...

PS - First assignment wasn't even done with PuTTY, I used my DS hacked with DSLinux to do the job! How do you like dem apples?
