That's been happening alot with other artist. Customer walks up to them and asked what they want and only pay if they see the image. If you tell them no... They all moody and bitchy. All I could say is just ignor them and let them whines. I know I sounded mean but it's the only way they could learn.

that's really how i'm handling it. I try to be as nice as i can but that's just not right to ask that of an artist. i'm busy enough as it is and i'm not going to spend a ton of time on a piece if there's a chance that i won't even be paid for it

why would i want them to make my image? the guy asked if i would draw him something and said that if he liked what i drew him and got it as a tattoo, then he would pay me. he says he can't draw and that he needs good artist to help him

ask a tattoo artist to do that for him. cos they will, if you have an appointment. But... they usually expect you to agree with their design, or at least make a commitment to SOMETHING that day.
and if he does that, he can find an artist whos style he's already fond of, instead of having them conform to something they're not used to

Yeah, I figured as much. I've had a couple people do that with me, ask me for a commission, go into the deep, deep details about what they want, then ask how much it will cost them, so I give them a roundabout figure... and then they tell me they can't do it because they want the kind of commission you don't have to pay for...

There are some idiots like that, i dont exactly like paying for something up front when i cant see what i am getting, but thats mostly because i have been ripped off by a couple artists before. Of course after getting my dragoness from you Sarieu i have no problems paying up front for it, because i know you do excellant work. ^.^ Now while that guy was a jerk and probably best not to deal with him, there is a slight point to it because like the people ordering the picture, not all artists are trustworthy either. I have a picture of one of my characters that i paid for but wont use because it's so bad, it wasnt done in the style i wanted, and the design of the character was horrible, the feet looked like they were on the wrong sides (big toes being on the outside) and one leg looked like it was bent backwards.

Definately NOT done by Sarieu by the way. But yeah bad person there, but i can see the other side of it too. But dont worry about it, i'm sure you have no shortage of good people to pay for your amazing pictures.
