The Duck? You were a natural Robert Crumb. Crumb used to keep a small picture of Bugs Bunny in his wallet when ever he had to visit the rest room during class; mine was probably just as strange. I wish I had a VHS recorder throughout the 90's to catch the really well animated commercials and still unreleased cartoons from back then. I so badly want MTV's Cartoon Sushi to come back. Is your old work in huge quantities?

This avatar is from almost 3 years ago now. The oldest stuff on the site here goes back 7 years give or take. Anything older hasn't really survived or is worth showing worth showing. Roughly have about 100 submissions that are 5 years or older on here.

You have way more subs than me! I have decent pieces from when I was 9. It's important history to keep all your work. Crumb was crumby; very full of himself. My early infatuations had more to do with cartoon shock/suffering then making out with a character; I liked seeing predator characters get smashed and pulverized or destroyed. My equivalent to your duck complex would be the melting of the red shoe out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit; was never into shoe's it was just the quivering and facial expressions of the character in pain that did it. I liked viewing cartoon agony back then.

The faint whimpers gurgling under burning Turpentine Acetone Benzine at the sight of red melting paint and clouds of fumes -I always said to myself, "that's messed up" while still liking it cause of it being so harsh. How much in all your old work do you think is gone if you were to number them in pages? Do you think your still improving each year or about the same?

Lots. I use to draw landscapes a ton. Still life I guess.. Something that I could grasp. I remember drawing this island over and over again everytime I visited my Moms cottage around South Hampton. Used a lot of charcoal and conte back then. Still have some old marvel renditions I did but those are sort of how can I mimic this picture in many ways.

Landscapes are what I need right now for my film. I did paint on black velvet so far for a back ground but that's all till I finish the story board; who knows I might not use the black velvet piece. Those Conte crayons and charcoal go well together for some scenes I've done a while ago last year for someone elses short film. Keep trying your best and u'r use of reference is in good instinct -keep that.
