I know the Joannes Fabrics here has 1-2inch long, very soft, brown fabric. Finding good quality long fur is very difficult unless you purchase it online in which case its relatively expensive. You may want to try asking suit makers like Gel (Pineapple Shark) whos localish or Beastcub(she does a lot of long haired critters) if they have extra or where they might get it from. I watch both people so you can look in my watches or you can just search their name in the search link. They are both generally nice people and should be able to give you links. I just know what they use will probably be more towards 20$ a yard.

Im in the middle of making a squirrel head. It looks pretty good for a first time but doesnt have markings as I didnt want to to be too complicated for me to make.
