I know but I was playing it straight. And I'm not sure if she's Anubian, but I remember seeing a picture of this horridly yellow thing sporting some anhks or something.
I read random stories for a while. I still do on occasion. I've never come across something like that.
I stopped because I kept typing out these long, and I do mean long, critiques...and then not posting them because they weren't asked for. And I can only do that so many times before I get fed up and go nuts.
I've typed a few long drawn out critiques. Posted a few. Most times they're ignored. A few times they're accepted for what they are. At least one time I've gotten attacked. Some fan bitched me out, called my stories pedestrian in the face of the author who I critiqued's greatness.
It's hard for me because I've spent 2 years, coming up on 3, in an environment where specific, thoughtful critique is encouraged. It's how I grow as an actor, and it works in other areas too. It can be frustrating but ultimately it is a rewarding thing.
Like your critique on that one story you looked at for me. Yeah, it hurt, some of it, but there wasn't much if anything I outright disagreed with, and it made the next draft and the next story I wrote better.
Some people don't actually want that kind of critique and I have to force myself to remember it.
No no no, it only hurt a little, in places, because I had to face that I was doing things that I would have readily pointed out in others' work if asked for crit. Not because of what you said! Don' think that at all! ^_^ I really appreciated your feedback! And I certainly will have more things to have you look at when I get them into shape and you have time, if you're willing.
Thankfully, during the story there were only a few people who, upon finding out what they were drinking, stopped drinking it. Others were drunk and didn't care, taken in intially by how it apparently smelled like cake.
Also sigh, does no one write about non-Anubian jackals.
Thats just... stupid. I've read a lot of crap, and thats at least in the top 20.
You know....

Good times.

That made me lol.
And you've got a good reason to be enraged... distilled pee xD
