Job Saving Throw

Roughly two weeks ago was the day I officially was out of work.
When I first got the message that I was going to get the boot, I pretty much panicked to try and get another job somewhere. About a week prior I'd heard of a job working down in the IT Department of the same organization that was looking for someone to fill a spot for the phone help desk. At the time I didn't know I was going to lose my job, so I sent an email to the guy in charge of the spot to see if I cold get more information about it because I was interested in taking it, since it's much closer to my eventual area of study than filling papers.
So when I got the shitty news, I went back down to IT to see what became of that job, dispiritedly hoping it was still open. Miraculously, it was. So with a couple failed attempts to see the guy in person and lots of emails, I eventually got a chance to talk with him about taking the position, and things seemed really promising. There was some issue with money, so there wasn't a guarantee, but just today, I got the word that I did get the job, and come this Friday I'll be employed again.
Today is a very good day, in spite of the fact that Steve Jobs died, which sucks hardcore, even though I hate Apple.
