thats what it is. its shit. Im not turning this into a sob story and Im not looking for attention, I just need to vent.
You ready for this? You sure you wont back out? Alright then, last chance.
Ok, so Im pissed. I made the mistake of taking a bunch of requests at once, and Im still working on crap in attempts to better myself and whatnot. Well, Im still not finished, and now Ive got four stories to write on top of that. So many of them are started and plotted, but Ive just had no drive to work on them. Its incredibly frustrating to have so much of a workload and not even be able to work on it because of my mentality. So being artist right now is shit.
I managed to get some free time and a free pass into a trip to Kings Dominion a week ago with my bf and some of his friends, with awesome rides and screaming and good times. So I used my card to get food and waters from the park, maybe $10-12 in spending for the day. The day ends quickly, we go home and go to bed. That was the last charge I could recognize on my statement that I had made.
Cut to yesterday: Im talking to my bf about going over to his house after not seeing him for the entire week due to his work schedule (3 in the afternoon to 11 at night) and my parents being sticks in the mud about not liking him or wanting me outside of the house after 11 pm. So yesterday since his mom is out with the car I call a cab to get me there before noon, since the buses are total assholes about getting someone somewhere they need to be on time. So the cab gets lost, tags an extra three bucks to the tab, and he finally finds the apartments. I go to pay with my card, and its declined, twice. So Im kinda like wtf is up with my card, since this isnt the first time it's happened (I tried to use it on getting a pizza, and it was declined again) so I meet up with my bf and use his computer to look up Suntrust's customer service number. I call them and put on hold for almost twenty minutes. I finally get someone and tell her that my card's been getting declined, so I ask if its the magnetic strip or something in the card. Well, its not that. So she gets ahold of someone else who works for Suntrust, and she hangs up while I talk to this guy.
He and I run through my bank statement and I point out every charge and transaction that I didnt even make. He checks the background info of these transactions, and some of them have come from Rhode Island. Im like, wtf? Rhode Island? Someone in Rhode fuckin Island has my card information? So I point out these other transactions, some coming from Rhode Island, others coming from California. He asks what the last thing I did was, and I tell him I went to the amusement park in VA, since its where I friggin live. So he does some more typing to figure this out, and someone in California tried to use a Wells Fargo ATM to take out between $350-500 from my account. (luckily most attempts were stopped) So ive canceled my card, Im fuming, so I ask the guy what I need to do. He tells me hes canceling my card, and that I need to cancel and change my information for Amazon, paypal, anything like those that I used previously. So I canceled the card on Amazon and paypal, and I get a new card, along with a $374.17 refund from the person who took my information. Tomorrow I have to print out these forms, fill them out and take them into Suntrust to get the refund taken care of (otherwise I dont get ANYTHING back.)
There is one good thing that happened and that I have a possible job opportunity working as a babysitter for our new neighbors when her parents leave from their who knows how long of a visit. Sooooo yeah...possible job yay. Stolen information booooo.

Nornally banks are fairly good at catching those things AND contacting you about it. I'm kinda surprised it got that far.
