My First Wreck! *I'm okay though* :)

Okay, so today my sis and I were returning home from Wal-Mart when an old guy in a Chevy SUV pulls out in front of us. I slamed on my breaks and swerved to avoid him, but our fenders met. My passanger side fender is messed up as well as my front axle. The old guy's rig had damage to the driver side fender and front bumper. No air bags deployed for either of us! lol
He was fine and we were fine. Everything was settled without alot of drama. I just hope I have enough insurance money comeing that I can fix my ride...
God was watching over us! It could have been much worse!
Well, since I'm here I guess I'll update everyone on my comic book project. It's had its up's and down's. I've been thinking about submitting it to AP and also considering self publishing.
Going the AP route would be cheaper, but then that would mean that my creation would belong to AP (if they decide to publish it that is), but the self publishing route would let me do whatever I want with my characters and story without the stress of editors trying to tell me to change things that I dont' want to change. The biggest problem with self publishing is the cost. I'd need close to $300 for Trademark and Copyright stuff, along with the cost of running out to town to scan my 11"x17" paper onto a flash drive (since I don't have a scanner that big). I found a handheld scanner that takes B sized paper but it costs around $270.
Well, that's what's been going on in my life today and the past few weeks. Comments, questions, ideas? Just let me know!
Take care ya'll! :)

And good luck with your comic. I don't have much advice on that front, but with all the avenues for digital publishing today, it's definitely easier than it's ever been, depending on your exact goals. May you find something that works well for you. :)
I greatly appreciate your comments and well wishes. Take care of yourself!
As for the scanning problem, I think I know one a little cheaper. *searches his bookmarks* http://www.amazon.com/Mustek-Expres...../dp/B000WKSZ5A and http://www.amazon.com/Mustek-ScanEx.....f=pd_cp_e_pw_1
The first one is fine if you're using an older OS and want to run really cheap. The second one is more Windows 7 friendly. Both have some mixed reviews, but considering the price difference between the Mustek and higher end models... I think they're the type of people who'd bitch about a free sandwich not having mayo.
And thanks alot for the links to those scanners. That $145 one is much closer to my price range. I never would have thought to look on Amazon. Thanks alot for that! (Also, lmao at the sandwich thing! )
Take care of yourself dude! I know I'm gonna drive more cautiously from now on! lol

It weighs 730 kg!
As for the issue of self publishing, what about the cost of printing the material? Or is this going to be an online thing?
I'm planning on making full sized, single issue (around 32 pages) comic books and putting them up for sale here on FA. And if I make enough later on down the road, I'll combine them into graphic novels to sell. But I'm still looking into the costs of everything including printing, shipping, copyright, trademark, ect... From what I know so far it's gonna be expensive.
Are you going to be doing any previews of this? If I were you, Id test out peoples interest and reactions first. Im assuming that your going for the niche furry market.
Oh, and yes, it's focused on the Furry market.
