I would say that I think that could be a good idea, but I don't think it would be a boring game at all. I've watched some of those demos, I've been excited to play it ever since I heard of it maybe...two years ago? Even though you're releasing it free, it would probably be a good idea to let people know about it. That way more people can play and enjoy it, and who knows, maybe someone will see the game and pick it up, don't rule out the possibility of it quite yet. I think anyone would be impressed to find someone who coded this entire game and developed it from scratch by themselves. The fact that you have been doing this still astounds me and I applaud you for it ^^

Yeah, but I must be on my, what, sixth revision? But I'm not starting over again. I finally have a formula I'm totally comfortable with, and I'm sticking to it.

I know, I'm just saying I think it would be awesome if someone picked up your game and that I have a tremendous amount of respect for you for having been doing all of this by yourself. I could never do anything like that in a million years

Only cuz you doubt yourself. Everyone has a talent, just not always in the field they expect.

Well if that happens for me, it'll be in music, not game design. I wanted to be a game designer once, but I gave that up a while ago.

That's a decent way to go about it if you're just making a name for yourself - putting a hat out can sometimes reap rewards anyway :) (Well, it worked for Ben Croshaw with the Chzo series.) I've had a bit of success with Desura, though, and got a lot of sales through Fastspring, but I couldn't help but feel that the way that it asked customers for address and phone information put a lot of potential buyers off.

I may be a little out of the loop, but is there some sort of virtual marketplace specifically for indie games? Like myspace is for music, sorta? if not, there should be, cuz distribution is expensive >.o
