Commission List and the "Reserve List"
I'm handling my commission list a bit differently this time around. Last time, I had five slots open and whenever one would clear, people would deluge me with messages hoping to be the first one with the correct timestamp to get the slot. I didn't quite like this and it was rather unfair to those without a lot of free time. So this time around, I'm doing things a bit differently.
I've got a commission list of seven slots, and beyond that I'm maintaining a reserve list of all the requests that came in after the initial list was filled. I'm not keeping details of the commission requests for people on the reserve list, but I'm keeping their name in the order I get them, so that I can contact them first when a slot opens up, and get their details if they're still interested. That means I can keep a reserve list order without being overwhelmed with the need to process huge amounts of information from everyone.
Right now the reserve list is pretty long, but I thought I'd reveal its existence publicly.

btw, are ya thinking about making a raffle? :O
-Tickets cost $X (let's just say 3)
-Start off with one grand prize winner gets a big prize (ie a full color commission) and everyone else gets a cheap prize (ie a quick sketch)
-give incentives for people to buy more tickets (ie if 50 tickets sold, you add another big prize [2 big prizes now] and if you sell 100 tickets everyone who didn't win a prize gets their icon inked)
-assign everyone numbers for their tickets and then pick the winners using a random number generator
One thing though: it is very good that you've posted several price examples so I know roughly how much a pic will cost, but if you're going to use an old journal as a guide, it would probably be good if you updated the reference pics, since *none* of them seem to be working at the moment. I'd like to know what Im' getting before I add my name to the list, so I can be ready with the right amount for what I want when my number comes up on the list.
It's a bit of a shame that you don't have much practice with lizards, since my avatar, who, I get a lot of commissions of, is an anthro-lizard, but maybe you'll be a bit more seasoned by the time I come around. Or I'll just think of some other picture featuring characters you already have established, and maybe some of my own. We'll see.
Come to think of it, a long waiting list might actually be good for me, since I've got projects up the wazoo as it is.
Gonna have to start saving up though. Quality costs.
***>>> I do not take commissions, requests, or trades. <<<***
You might want to edit that if you don't want to scare away the potential customers.
Either way I'd be happy :D So it is possible to still note you? We just have to accept if we don't make it or whatever yes?
Sorry if I'm just retarded and not making any sense. And terribly sorry if you already clarified.
x3
I shall text you on this matter.
