Saw this in an article about Alabama's "harsh"(IE: Mirrors Federal Immigration statutes), new Immigration law:
Jose, a 16-year-old undocumented student in Pelham, remains in school but worries about what might happen to him.
"Alabama makes me live in fear. If mom drives me to school, a policeman could arrest me just because of the color of my skin," the Mexican-born Jose said on Wednesday. "I have to be afraid of my teachers, the people I look up to."
First, you are living in fear not because you, and your mother(who is likely also Illegal in an instance like that), are hispanic, they aren't arresting you because of the color of your skin, they are arresting you because you are an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, not an undocumented whatever the word of the day is. You have broken the law, they would equally arrest an illegal Romanian, or Russian, or Irishman(we get those from time to time), or even an Illegal Canadian(they exist, I have seen one). This has nothing to do with the color of your skin, much like AZ Senate bill 1070, the Alabama law prohibits the detention of any person based solely on skin color.
Additionally, I understand that the school is recording the legal residency status of students, however this is for statistical purposes only, as has been explained to students(as I understand it Alabama is going to file suit against the Federal Government once they have an accurate accounting of how many illegal aliens they are paying to educate), the Supreme court ruled in the 1970's that immigration enforcement cannot be done at schools, as even illegal aliens are entitled to an education.
This is laughable, this is just like a car thief complaining to the media that they are afraid to drive down the street in their stolen cars because they might be arrested.
Oh, article here: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011.....79B7GO20111012

No you retard. Your being arrested for using an illegal drug in a goddamn public park. People want to claim themselves as oppressed for one reason or another to shield whatever bad shit they are actually doing. Its stupid, but the part that amazes me is how many people fall for the tactic.
[ no I don't actually believe this, im just torturing bryant by saying it. :P ]
HIT THE FLOOR LAUGHING AND CRYING IN JOY.
