A Fresh Restart

Man, going a week without a working computer sucks, BUT NO MORE!. The new rig (I named her Adelaide) has now been built and is up and running beautifully. First new machine in 7 YEARS. Again, I thank 9lion for unknowingly bailing me out of this one (he donated a large amount a couple days before the old system died, and didn't tell me) Much love goes out to saving my ass. I was planning on backing everything up and saving up after MFF, but fate had other plans.
Also, I have officially lost EVERYTHING. Not an entirely bad thing though, almost everything I had is spread out amongst various places or in the possession of various people, and there was a lotta junk on there I never bothered to clear. To be honest, the fresh start is kinda cathartic. Definitely good times ahead, as I've got a machine I don't have to worry about dying on me as I game and work on art (the last few images almost ran out all of my RAM in colouring them).
New art will be coming soon, I've got some lineart done this week I intend to finish up once I manage to find someone with photoshop so I can get colouring again. I'll probably even be tossing up a buncha sketches as well. and the best news... I'll finally be able to livestream! W00!!
In the meantime, though..... I'm gonna go redownload all the music and porn I lost!

Congrats on the new computer. Condolences on needing to re-download all your music and porn. I hope all your gorgeous art is easily recovered. As always, I look forward to seeing whatever you draw.

It was a painful, yet uplifting refresh, so I can totally sympathize, except for the fact you totally upgraded it all. My HDD just had to be reformatted. Slightly jelly, I'm so happy you're blessed with such awesome friends, and I can't wait to see how you duke it out in livestream!
Also, there's a new way of streaming, which I personally prefer, called http://join.me
It's less intensive on the CPU, streams the entire desktop with relative ease, and the interface is sleeker. You also don't need to set up an account on it, so you don't have to worry about getting your channel banned!
Of course, if the failure is physical in nature (i.e. the "Click of Death"), only spending a buttload to get it professionally restored will do the trick. :x
But I wouldn't give up just yet; you might be able to mount the old hard drive in the new rig and all your stuff will be there!

Anyway, yeah, that's always quite refreshing. It's a psychological weight being lifted and released, you don't have to worry about it any longer. It's very nice, especially if your new machine is awesome, like yours is. :D
Sorry for not mentioning anything about the gift. It was difficult for me to think of a way to inform you about it without sounding like I was fishing for complements.
