What is a brony?

Ha, ha ha, because I so didn't call people out on that in the first line of my journal >=P

I know, I just had too!

"Brony" is a term made up by the large portion of adult male My Little Pony fans who got their start and migrated from 4chan; the term and the connotations of "bro" culture are why I've had such a tough time getting Zephie to watch any more of the actual show--he thinks the show is okay but can't stand the fandom. :P (Me? I stay on the edges--the fanaticism creeps me out too, but a lot of the fanart is awesome, and staying in touch means being able to download and watch new episodes 20% faster. ;) )

Also, I'm not surprised that the plots are where you're finding fault--they were written to be simple enough for a small child to follow and to be wrapped up in 22 minutes. The characters and subtle (and not-so-subtle) references are what was carefully designed to appeal to parents, to get adults to stay around and watch the show with their kids instead of just abandoning them to the glow of the TV set.

Funny you mention that, though. I don't care for the show but think the fandom are really fun people. =P

Thinking about the show itself for a bit, I've talked to somebody else about it, and more or less realized that I'm not particularly a fan of 'slice of life' style animes. Which pretty much is what MLP is.

I think you're like a Mexican. Their skin isn't black OR white so they're free of any racist jokes, yet people can't tell where they truly belong. I suppose you are in someway. But to fully accept you, make some awesome brony sprite art for our eyes to enjoy. C:

Just make sure you're able to finish it, because otherwise it'll just be a whole bunch of time wasted in attempting to, but failing at trolling MLP fans. Which would be a shame :P

I already made the code for making a Pokemon fight. Making it more animated wouldnt take that much. A timer to control when you can attack should be easy and my friend is already drawing me the Pony Beast!

You're not a "brony" cause you're not trying to convert the non-believers, your not drawing pony art, and as far as I know of, none of your characters have suddenly been turned into a horse with a bizarre ray gun of some sort that someone is using to go around and zap people into Bronies.
