I'd love to OC with ya... To host, all you need to do is click on Network, scroll down to Show Network, then click on the Network Prefrence tab to set the canvas parimeters, then click on the Server tab, and if you want to password protect y our session put it in there, and then click 'stand by'. The IP will appear in the chat window. If you use Hamachi, then it will use the IP assigned through it.

I just downlaoded the older (and newer) versions myself.

Im not much of a good artist yet, but Id love to try Opencanvas online sometime.

Though Id love to get some event files too :3

what's an event file?

An event file is basicly a saved file of all the steps and progress made in an opencanvas image.
Basicly, it saves everything from beginig to end and when you load it into Opencanvas it'll play the whole thing back until its finished at wich point you can save the image in a JPG format or whatever.

It seems event files or .wpe files can be loaded in OC4 jsut fine (while OC1's standard .wpb doesnt seem to work as well)

Anyway, after each network session in OC1 it should try to save the session as an event file after you click yes to close it.

Im still a bit new to OC, I jsut downlaoded it. But Im finding it rather easy to get used to since its very adobe photoshop like.
