Because Ponies
I have to be pony-free today :C If I'm not, then that's all I'll think about while trying to take the PSATs and during homecoming. Our theme is One Wild Night, meaning animals! <3
I made a ton of stuff to upload, and I want to draw some moar. I'm going to scrap a lot of what there is to upload, though.
I had some crud to rant about, but I've let it go. I think one of my HKNBs talk about it, but that's okay.
Humans are hard to draw. I traced some pictures from a magazine just to get a feel for the lines, but it's still hard. They look creepy if they're off, but animals just look toonier.
I have new and better fabric to make more sleeves with, but I'm not in any hurry, because it's isn't for Halloween, just for fun. Ah yes! I must upload the sleeves I've already made, as well!
I might be doing some writing commissions soon, but my mom is insisting I let her write a contract. XD It isn't a bad idea, it's just cumbersome and it's hard to get started if you make it too difficult.
AGH I JUST CAUGHT MYSELF READING ABOUT PONIES ON WIKIPEDIA I CANT HANDLE THIS

However, with me, it's hands and, to a lesser extent, feet that I need more practice on. I understand the structure and arrangement of both sorts of appendages, but cramming all those toes onto a foot or getting those fingers arranged properly can be a pain at times.
Of course, it's not like I draw many humans. It's not because I find them hard to draw. I just like drawing non-human animals and furries more.
By the way, I never did go to homecoming when I went to school or go to any of the dances or prom. But you already knew I was weird.
Also, practical art tip: If your drawing is ever going completely and totally wrong and you can't erase it enough to fix it without starting over, just draw it crosseyed/walleyed and upload it with the title "A HERP A DERP." This has made me much happier with many a sketch when showing others my sketchbook.
And ehh, I'm only going to prom if Mik can come with. I only went to homecoming because my friends forced me. Not normally my thing, but I don't regret it. We had a 30-person conga line in the dance hall around everyone else who danced appropriately to the rap music. And there was free food, including meat cones and tiny cartons of iced tea.
One year in high school, my art class made gingerbread houses. Unsurprisingly, my gingerbread walls ended up coming out of the oven looking as if they had been ordered up by a shady contractor. There went any attempt to have a normal-looking gingerbread house much less something more ambitious like a light house (not enough sugar cubes available for that one). So I ended up stacking the sugar cubes up as one wall of the gingerbread shack, patched the walls together the best I could, then slathered icing all over the thing to hide the evidence of the contractor's cheapness. Stick on some strategically placed candies that had been lying around for a while and I could call it something based on a southwestern-style church. I'm pretty sure I got a passing grade on it, but I don't know for sure since I was dang glad to be done with that project.
The reason I didn't go to any of the dances, homecomings, and proms of my middle school and high school years was that they were basically parties. I don't like parties because they're too boring.
