Bastion- the steam game
14 years ago
I'ma write here, what i wrote as a review:
"Wow. You ever play one of those games that make you shiver as you beat it and look at the credits? One of those games that had everything you could want of it's genre? Bastion is that kind of game. Just looking at the screenshots, I SEVERELY underestimated it's gameplay and story. There's lots of choices for how you progress through the game, but it doesn't overload you, and on top of that, the music is incredible! This is a doozie of a game, people! Supergiant games deserves every last penny from this purchase- and I can't recommend it enough!"
This was a hell of a game. I thought it looked rather standard/mundane and boring from the screenshots, but they did it no justice at all. I got the game purely on the reviews from all over the web (everyone likes it), and their opinions are justified.
This game fucking kicks ass.

i was thinking, if they had released this on say, the 3ds (if it could support the game) bastion JUST might have saved the 3DS's sorry ass
both of these turned out to be faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic to the point that i filled my armor.
It... didn't look too appealing from the gameplay vids, but i havent played it so i got nothing to really critique
if you get it, do it because you want it to sit on your shelf so you can point at it and go "I want mechanics like that" and play it for 15 minutes every few months to remind yourself the potential the gaming industry has. the way most people I know do with mirror's edge, another fantastic game with errors.
its the first game to use jetpacks to that extreme of an extent. its futuristic and its original for the most part. so there was bound to be a couple hundred issues since it was attempting to take games in a new direction.
but game play is isometric 3rd person- there's lots of upgrades, a couple of branching story paths, and the graphics are pretty smooth. The music is awesome too, and the story is very deep :)
o.o;;
Like, who or what do you play as? What's the setting?
Having played bastion, I can say that they earned every penny, and then some :)
