Plans to release bedfellows comic (Feedback needed)
I would like to get some feedback from everyone, as I am currently working on the first bedfellows comic book. A lot of you have been requesting I create one, but I have been reluctant to do so due to many variables such as publishing costs, release medium, copyright concerns, and my ability to tell a story.
However we finally have reached a point where its safe to say it is in the works, and its looking pretty damn good!
The book is a 25 page story about sheen and fatigues adventures as they travel to a convention, meet interesting people, and share good whole sum fun family experiences! (hurhur)
There will be casting calls for people who would like their characters to be in the comic, probably sometime in late November early December, so keep an eye on my journal for that. There will be a fair charge to be in the comic based on screen time, and that will pay for the initial release.
Around the time of casting calls I will start taking pre-orders. I'm considering taking pre-orders only, once the book is released I will no longer take orders.
I have the choice of releasing the book in softcover form, or PDF. The problem of course, is I have a minimum order with softcover, and will make the cost for the book go up. Where as PDF I don't feel is as intimate as an actual book. The book will be black and white, but the PDF would be color. How do you feel about all this?
What do you think is a fair price? I was thinking $9.99 for PDF with a discount option, and $13.99 for the book (Still trying to decide if I want to even release a book.)
So what are your thoughts, about all this? Excited? Don't care? Worries? Concerns? I want this to be the best damn thing out there, so your feedback will be helpful for me.

FA+

on if i had the money >.<
Love your writing and I think good things would come out of a book. And an actually physical book instead of digital image PDF should help cut down distributing :D (but if you dont care releasing both would be the way to go)
Either way it should sell well as long as all your fans aren't as broke as me :3
As of now there are about 6 characters needed for this book, but there will be lots more as we continue writing the script and layouts.
I'm considering giving free comics to those in the comic.
Casting calls could be amusing as well.
....well i did just make that up but i think its accurate

The casting call thing sounds like something I'd like to be a part from.
I'd like to preorder a preorder.
Now if I could just stop procrastinating and actually work on my own story telling.
id def buy the book and make sure I catch the casting call too >:3
Yeah, a 20-30 page comic would be fun to read.
I would be much more likely to buy your book if I can see what I'm getting before I buy it.
For example, I bought a copy of Grimal's Deo: The Claw (in softcover) because I had seen it here on FA beforehand. I won't buy a pig in a poke (although I may well poke a cute pig in a sty!)
A story would be rather odd with your comedic and humorous style.
Just take a look at the Garfield "story" comics; Never did good, nobody really bought them, as people were more expecting just plain comedy, not a comic about Garfield trying to rescue Oddie (or whatever that mutts name is in English).
But yeah, a comic release definetely sounds cool, even I would order one, as long as it has at least 20 pages and a price under 20US.$ (shipping included, LoL)
As Steam said, I'd only release it as hard copy / printed book. A PDF would be shared with the entire fandom by one or two furs.
