Reminds me of that one show:

"What Would You Do?" With John Quinones.

They put actors/etc in public places and do these types of scenes just to see what people would do. Going as far as to try it out with people of different genders/races/social class to see the changes in reaction to each person. It's surprising yet disgusting at the same time at how things go at times.

I remember that one. specificly the roofie one where some bar on the beach, two actors, guy slips something into the girls drink when she's away then later she pretends to not feel well. called bullshit on people as he blatantly does it. there was this one old couple who got in his face, and then two past-middle aged grease balls who actually approved of him doing this.

difference is the boy was doing it for attention, selfish reasons, and in this case, its pointing out that people are selfish. opposite reasons with the same actions.

*nods* this is a sad fact of people. there's a worse one in china about some homless guy gets run over, and gets run over a few more times and STILL people won't help because they are afraid of being sued.

apparently there were some casses of people helping other people and then getting a lawsuit served to them from the guy they rescued.

people are stupid and weird.

:/ But I DO stop. I buy apples for the homeless. I donate blankets & towels (and cleaning supplies and money and gas cards) to the Humane Society. I pull over to see if cars with their emergency flashers on need a phone or a jump start. I let strangers use my cell phone to call locksmiths when they've locked themselves out of their cars. When women are crying, I ask them if they're OK and give them a tissue. When children look alone, I ask them if they need help. When men look angry or frustrated or sad or scared, I ask them if they're OK and what I can do for them. I pick up hitchhikers on windy, cold, or rainy days. I return my shopping cart into the store. I take my own bags for checkout when shopping. I hold doors for people and help the elderly with their packages. I don't give a fuck what the "Crowd" thinks I should be doing. I TRY to stand out from the crowd. I try to be BETTER than the crowd. And I don't care if I get murdered doing it, because when I get to where ever we end up, I'll be there with a clear conscience, yeah?

Well..i guess only a few acts of kindness on my part dont ammount to anything. Im still someone who might do this. Even if i do give money to those in need,and help people out of sucidal problems...especially helping out this one guy who face planted off his bike onto concrete, by calling him an ambulence, and getting some paper towen to help clean the wound... Really, Im no better than the people passing by.

We're all human..and we can be pretty scummy at times. I know im just scum anyway.
