Fur Fright Con Report.

We pen our fate to the parchment of time...
So I'm exhausted when writing this and relaxing for the couple hours I have before we go to the airport and head back home to California and recover from a wonderfully awesome con! Let me get started!
To be clear, Fur Fright 2011 was my second con ever (FC 2011 being my first), so I have very little to base some experiences on. This was also the first con in which I had to travel more then ten minutes to attend (I live just down the road from FC), so this was a whole new experience for me!
For those who don't know, FF this year had my mate,
Keto as the guest of honor along with JD Puppy. That being said, my con experience was a little different then what I'm sure the average attendee experienced. This was also a first for Keto because he actually had to table in the 'Den for the first time ever! He sold a plethora of things from posters to amazing paper toys he designed with the help of our wonderful friend
dbear
It was a unique experience sitting in the dealer's room helping Keto sell his things. People would come around and we'd talk, Keto would make some sales (or take sketches), and all in all just a great way to see a lot of people come about. I loved the experience all most as much as just chilling in the lobby and seeing friends come around.
I will say this con gave me a chance to meet a lot of east coast furry friends I've made via FA and Twitter. I really couldn't have asked for much more then that and apologize to anyone who I didn't get to spend a lot of time with; con's are an incredible experience and time, while we think is endless on Wednesday night, seems to have flown by at light speed by Sunday evening. If only we didn't have to sleep! (I tried not to!).
The dinner for the sponsors was wonderful, the Masquerade was awesome, including Keto laughing as loud as he could about a joke that had been made 30 seconds ago (Thanks JD for explaining it to him! All of us who have known him for awhile now knew that Keto had the joke explained to him when he bursted out laughing in the middle of Wag's skit. That's easily one of my favorite memories of the con).
The closing ceremonies were awesome, too! Xerxes ( I don't know which one, so if anyone knows a keyboard singing furry by the name of Xerxes let me know!) did a great song that wasn't able to be sung during the Masquerade for technical difficulties. And while the song took a playful shot at me I couldn't help but laugh (as did all my friends!).
For the record, the con was capped at 1.5k attendees this year. What was the grand total of those who were able to get badges? 1,485. Just fifteen furries off! Thats incredible. Wonder what it will be like next year.
It was wonderful seeing Belic again, meeting friends I hadn't seen since FC (or ever), and making new friends! I really couldn't ask for a better experience and Fur Fright was easily a great con.
My next con is FC 2012 and that can't come soon enough. I hope people make it out!
Oh yeah,
Keto pierced his nose.
That's all!

I wasn't taking a shot at you! I was taking a shot at Keto for theoretically pretend-hating me not really and making me lose the Masquerade.

Haha. Oh, I know it was a silly, honest joke. =) I thought it was awesome to be honest. Keto said he couldn't hear the song from backstage so I hope I can find a video of it.

You even managed to survive the con without any water bottle attacks! Lucky you!

Sounds awesome! Nice to hear you had a good time. I don't think anyone minds the lack of hang-out time, I'm sure everyone who's at a con understands just how busy and crazy they can be when you're there :)

*bearhugs* It was SO great to see you, Keto, dbear, and the whole gang! I'm so sorry I didn't have a lot of free time to hang with you guys, but the little time I did have was wonderful! I can't wait to see you at FC! ;o)
