Ten Things About Me.

The Rules:
- You must post these rules.
- Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
- You have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
- Go to their pages and tell them you tagged them!
Thing one:
I often question the way I react to people. I tend not to exhibit things like “normal human emotions” much and sometimes I wonder if I may be lacking some fundamental piece of humanity. I tend to get very emotionally distant and/or numb when I’m stressed.
Thing two:
I have a collection of nerdy plush animals that includes two Angry Birds (a big red one and a little black one), a Skelanimal Tarantula, a dragon, and a flying monkey from Wicked.
Thing three:
I don’t like being argumentative, though there are people who inspire the trait in me. Some people are loudly opinionated and need to be knocked down a peg in order to be socially tolerable. I’m not excluding myself from this category at all.
Thing four:
I often make light of things that make me uncomfortable. It’s not always conscious, and I don’t always realize it. I try to play off things that bother me, which gives the mistaken impression that I don’t care about the subject matter.
Thing five:
I’ve never really felt like I fit into a single gender category. This said, I’m not looking to alter myself, as I’m okay with the gender I’ve been assigned by genetics. I exhibit both male and female personality traits, and have always seen myself as amalgamate of male and female as opposed to a single assignment. This said, I don’t generally understand hermaphrodite characters.
Thing six:
I wish I knew more about artistry and multi-media, but I have no real interest in being a full time artist. I enjoy the creative process, but would be maddened if I had to rely on it for income. I’ve dabbled in several formats (pencil, pastel, acrylic, clay, sculpey, and digital) but have never mastered anything.
Thing seven:
I hold the personal belief that sexuality is fluid, if only for myself. I have days where different types of people are attractive to me, and others where no specific type of individual holds my interest. I’ve never believed that a person was only as deep as their appearance, as everyone has something attractive about them at some level or another. For me, attraction has always been about unwinding the mystery of who someone is, not what they look like.
Thing eight:
I often feel as though I’ve wasted my formative years. I never went to post-secondary of any sort and only fluked into a well-paying job that interests me. I wish I were driven enough to find something that rendered me passionate enough to pursue it as a career.
Thing nine:
I’ve always been obsessed with Halloween. Something about being someone else for a day appeals to me on a very visceral level. This probably indicates that I don’t like being myself very much, which is an issue of some internal debate.
Thing ten:
Since I became an adult, I stopped having much interest in receiving gifts, but giving them has been something I greatly enjoy. I’m not entirely sure what this means, but that’s how I roll.
Also, I don't tag people for memes. If you care to do it, go for it. I always enjoy perpetuating meme-y goodness.
Heck, even post your ten things here in comments, I like to know these things. =3

FA+

I've found I don't care for bars much (not that I ever did, really), big groups of people (lack of social interest mostly) and vapid people (I used to tolerate them) as much as I did as a teenager.
Heh, I feel like I should soon be telling kids to get off my lawn. =P
