Back from FurFright!

On Thrusday night our friends SoulWolf and Gryphan arrived and much hugging, talking and pizza was had. Friday morning at the ass-crack of dawn we were up and had the car loaded and off to Fur Fright. The border crossing was pretty easy as it has been for us in the past, with no real lineups or issues overall. The car was not in good shape at all though.
No power at all, and the most horrific knock and judder whenever I laid on the gas. The check engine light flashed away at me but we managed to limp into the con.
After unloading the truck and parking it, we proceeded to check in and go to our hotel room. It was pretty sweet, because we found that our room was right at the end of a small flight of stairs that pretty much dropped us right into the convention space. We kept calling it our "private entrance" to the con.
I ran into Dark Cougar and was able to talk him into helping me with the truck, seeing as he is quite handy with his paws and knows the area, so we set plans in motion to take a look at it on Saturday. I really wish I could break down everything that happened at the convention but sadly most of my time was spent stewing about whether or not the truck would make it home and if we would find out what was wrong with it.
Saturday Dark and I took a look at the truck to find that the 90 degree elbow that connected the PCV had partially melted and caused a hole in the system and partially collapsed it anyway. That and the PCV itself had come loose from the head. Not having a replacement hose we borrowed some electrical tape and I cannibalized a pen and dark cut the hose and removed the bad section. This MacGyver arrangement managed to limp the truck to the local Advance Auto Parts where we grabbed a code reader and found that I had misfires in the nubmer 1 and 3 cylenders. This was what caused the stumble. We were able to pick up some carb cleaner and a replacement hose and get the PCV attached again more permenantly and the truck was back to Fur Fright. On the way home we still noticed the stumble but the lean condition in the truck was gone at least and it smoothed out a bit.
Saturday night was a blur of drinks, relaxing and Rocky Horror, which was good.
Sunday we played some games in the game room, relaxed, I commissioned Grisser for some art, and that was really about it..
I wish I could mention everything I did and everyone i saw, but it was such a blur of happy times, great furs, fun activities, and maddening car troubles it is just a wash for me to try to get it all straightened out in my head.
Neededless to say I am back home, safe and sound and at work.. Man.. I wish I was still at the convention.
