Well, we are sending for a replacement for the defective (?) Razr. This time I'm getting a black one. Bel looked on-line and believe it or not, the blue and pink ones had a zillion percent more recalls and problems than the black ones... Go figure.
Anyway, thanks for writing with suggestions and information. I am once again displaying my impressive uselessness in dealing with new technology. It's funny, when I was a kid, I LOVED gadgets and techy, Star Warsy kinds of stuff...now I like old fashioned, retro, bulky stuff. I wonder what that says about my psyche?
ANYWAY, since I couldn't find a workable ST communicator replica cell phone, we're just going to get another Ebay Razr...wish me luck!
*Hugs!*

Try to find a seller who states what provider the phone is from, and that it's your provider. The original provider will NOT provide a code to unlock the phone if you want to use it on another provider. (If you weren't already sure of the model you wanted, this would also ensure that you don't get, e.g., a CDMA phone when you have a GSM provider...) They still need to make sure their own new phone is on the company systems, or you might not be able to activate yours(even with a new company-provided SIM, the system might be picky).
If someone swears up and down that the phone is unlocked, it may still work...
*sigh* Anyway, thanks for your reply...some of which I even understood. ^0^
