New England Furs! Checking interest for an Ice Skating Meet!
So this idea occurred to me while in Work today, or more precisely while leaving it for the day. It's been a good few years since I decided to try my hand at learning to Ice skate and learning that it was quite fun! I've been itching to get to do it again (Alongside skiing, but that's a different matter and one I believe Camohusky is planning to do still), but haven't found a means to go out and do it.
Well, I figured after the success of the meet I helped plan with Kiniel for Minigolfing, it was about time a new Mass meet got planned that included more than just ingesting food. Since I want to go Ice Skating, but want to share the fun of it, why not make it a possible meet? Granted, I'm still new to this and would like lots of input for ideas of where and what dates work, but for now this is simply to gauge interest. There was some shown on Twitter, but I wanted to get a full idea of who would attend.
Perspective dates: Somewhere between Saturday, Decempter 17th and Sunday January 15th (This is the time of my Winter beak from college and the best possible dates for when the ice would probably be good)
Perspective Location: OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS! The only place I know of is the Boston Common, and I would prefer it be at an outdoor place if the weather is good. Indoors if it's not so good. Price would obviously be a factor in many things too.
Fursuiting: To be Honest, I know next to little about fursuits except for the etiquette of a lot. I imagine unless one is practically an olympic skater, it'd be very difficult to skate on ice in Fursuit. Sidelining, however, would be possible.
For Those who don't know how to Ice Skate: While I am only an amateur myself, it is not hard to learn to skate at all, and I'm sure others would be willing to help teach! Very simple motions as long as you go slow. And if you don't know how to skate, maybe some other option can be arised as a possible sideline event.
So, yeah. Tell me if your curious! I want to gauge interest and figure out what works best for everyone. Will be sending this to the Mass FA group as well, and will eventually post to LJ once more info is solidified. But yeah! Post your interest, post your ideas! I'll be doing research into places but if you have suggestions for places let me know!
Waiting for input!

But yeah, I've never actually ice skated in my life, so I'm expecting to hurt myself if I try... >!>
Frog Pond in the Common is a fun place. It's usually real busy though, and I don't know if people would be antagonistic to tail-wearers and the like. In general, I've been many a time and had fun. I'm sure there are many other ice skating places around, too, but being in the Common means there's all the rest of Boston right there to do stuff before/after.
Yay for planning! =3
And yes, Yay for planning :D
Must be an ungulate thing to not like ice.
