I was actually cynical at first about rumors of Pandarians becoming a playable race in WoW. Since they did just release new Races.

It threw me off at first, but the way they're implementing the story, no matter how Kungfu Pandaish it is, is sort of cool. Blizz is known for camp, so it fits lol

The thing I'm most curious about is the talent spec of the Monks. :D

Pandaren were in the older games and were sort of soft-retconned in WoW. They mentioned that Pandaren were gonna be for the Alliance for Burning Crusade, but they opted for the more fitting Draenei. It works much better for this Xpac anyway lol

I think it's just because we're Furry that it's that noticeable; to others, it's just monsters and mythical creatures. Draenei are demons, Worgen = werewolves, Tauren = minotaurs.

My suggestion is to go to your Blizzard account page and find the download section for your WoW account. It's a big download but in the long run, much easier to deal with than older discs.

Ugh. Fuck the pandas, this game is all but dead to me now. Shameless attempt to get young kids and asians to play more at the expense of story or decent pve content.

It does seem like this one's focusing on PvP, but thinking up stories for WoW might be harder as they kill off more and more established villains/myths/gods. All they have left is what, Emerald Nightmare and ending the war if they don't add anything completely new? All-in-all, they've done decently, it's just that people have gotten used to it to the point of being bored and skeptical of new elements.

No idea, never played it. What's gonna make me cancel my sub though is the pokemon bullshit and the total destruction of the talent system. Both are basically a huge "WE'RE OUT OF IDEAS" signal from blizzard.

Oh my I'm so excited for this expansion! I love asiatic culture and I've always loved the Pandaren since WC3!

I can't believe people are just bitching about this! I think this is the most original expansion so far. All others were "big bad guy arrives and screws up everything, people unite and beat it". Three times! This one has so much potential, yet people just complain because of the Pandaren...

New dungeons and challenges
Yet people are just "OH GOD PANDAS SO CHILDISH WOW IS DED RAGEQUIT /returns 1 day later"

But it's always like this, after a while all ragequites will be back, unfortunately.

Because nobody is rewarded for originality in the gaming industry any more. Pandaren give me an excuse to actually play this game... but my problem with it still: Paying to play a game I've already paid an exorbitant amount for. I know they have to pay for servers and such, but like $30 a month (cheaper if you can afford a down payment for a whole year.)

I can't wait to play Pandaren!

I personally don't see a problem in paying something as long as I'm having fun. I've been playing MMORPGs for years and I have no regrets of paying what I've paid. I've had unforgettable moments while playing. I even met my man  LotusNegra on Ragnarok Online! :)

And it's not $30 O.O right now they're charging $15 for a month. They're going to launch brazilian servers, and once they do that I'm gonna transfer my characters. The subscription fee will be in Reais, which will be more or less $7, yay!

Now my prospects of playing are higher.

if only I could get the same for my reoccuring payemnts, though mine are every 3 months, but been playing since vanilla. Really wish I could have attended this year. I blame Obama for the lack of jobs.

everyone but Worgens and Goblins can be monks. kinda sucks for the people that joined WoW to play as Worgens.

I mean, think about it, Monks are all bare-handed/knuckle weapons, why wouldn't Worgens be a good fit? I honestly see Worgen Monks easier than Gnomish monks, personally.

Tauren monks will given me a good reason to play Horde again. I always did love Tuaren, but all my friends play Alliance, so I've had to neglect my poor Tauren Shaman.

I truly look forward to the next expansion. A new race AND a new class. a use for non-combat pets (can't call 'em "non-combat" anymore, based on what I'vre read from WoWHead), account-wide achievements, and scenarios.

I'm not particularly looking forward to the loss of my Hunter's melee weapon, and the talent/skill changes could be both good or bad.

The one thing I'm NOT looking forward to is the lack of normal level 90 dungeons. I can understand most people will head straight for Heroics, but I don't get the chance to play often. I wouldn't call myself casual, but I'm definitely not a hardcore player. If I make it into a heroic 90 Dungeon, I don't doubt that I'd be kicked as "Not good enough".

But, eh, I seem more good than bad (even if there seems to be a big PVP focus). I'll make my judgement when it comes out.

In the meantime, I'll go back to trying to actually GET to level 85. Been too busy with University to actually make my way to the Cataclysm stuff. Still questing through Northrend.

It looks like the only races that can't play Monks are Goblins and Worgen. I wonder why the Cataclysm races get left out?

Could Blizzard have had this under construction before Cataclysm shipped?

I don't know why I keep tabs on WoW, I haven't played since before Wrath of the Lich King launched.

From what I read, all classes except Goblin and Worgen will get to be monks.
So yes, your Tauren monk fantasies are going to be available.

Yes, check the site. Tauren is a race that can play Monk. I like the idea of the Monk Brewmaster: technically he drinks so much that he ignores damage. basically drunken boxing fighting style as a tank. AWESOME.
