Well, the good news is that I'm back to my original hours and work. So there was no additional hour cuts or unpaid furloughs. As for overtime.... that is a great example of double speak, something I've found my employer is wonderful at. So yeah, since the end of the year and winter are coming up, they want overtime to be eliminated unless it is absolutely necessary (I work for an environmental testing laboratory, so when the environment shuts down during the winter, so does a good portion of our work). However, they don't want to hire any new people for the team I work on and we don't have enough people working weekends to meet the quotas they have set. So we are now required to work an additional 8 hour shift about every month in addition to our normal schedule that week. So yeah, no overtime, but you are required to work mandatory overtime, but it isn't mandatory because that is illegal and violates labor laws o_O.So yeah, if anyone understands that, I'll be impressed. Also just learned that our token black guy got terminated for trying to fix the B.S. that was going on between him and his boss (like his boss blaming him for not working on assignments that he wasn't told about or working on non-priority work that he was told was priority by his boss). I mean, this guy easily put 70 hours of work each week, was a hard worker, and was paid jack shit (like the rest of us). So after being overworked, not appreciated and taken advantage of, he was unceremoniously terminated over one email (and the email was just requesting to talk over stuff with his boss's boss to work things out). So yeah, my employer, like to fuck you over hard and then kick you to the curb with a quarter for you service. Kinda want to leave but yet don't want to add another short term placement on my Resume (just starts to look bad if you keep moving around >>).
Sadly had to skip out on FurFright as I couldn't afford to go as an attendee. Even just to go socially, had to work both Friday and Saturday, meaning I had to get life stuff done on Sunday (groceries, cleaning, laundry, etc.). Oh well, they'll be more FurFrights in future years and other cons to attend. The furmeets I was able to make it to were mixed bags as it was kinda hard to be around people constantly talking about how awesome furfright was going to be. But still, spending a few hours with others is always nice.
Also had a test result appointment with my doctor. All my blood work came back clean/boringly normal. So husky has no STDs/STIs and all the stuffs in my blood are within normal levels (cholesterol, blood sugar level, etc). So that's good since some of those tests are supposed be done post fast. So since my nonfast levels were good, no worries. My doctor does want to vaccinate me for hepatitis A (think it was A >>) since gay males have a higher risk of possible exposure then general population. Haven't decided if I'll go for that or not. I do have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a disorder where breathing stops during sleep. This means that basically my body isn't getting good sleep and I'm basically always going around sleep deprived (don't notice as I always feel this way). Right now the course of action is for me to lose weight and try to learn not to sleep on my back. If that fails, then I'll have to be put on a CPAP machine to treat it. Other then that, nothing else new for me.
