New Laptop :: First Impressions
14 years ago
Hello Everyone!
Sorry I've been a little incommunicado -- New laptop arrived today, and I've spent half of the evening installing everything on it and transferring over Paint Tool SAI brush settings (No easy task, considering I've been customizing these brushes for a long time now). Everything's in working order, and all I have left to install on it is recreational stuff.
The first thing I got to play on it was Grand Theft Auto IV, which I got on a rediculous steam sale with 6 other GTA games. The laptop handled the graphics pretty well with a solid framerate at 1360 wide. A little slowdown on the wide city shots, but not by much. It -does- put out some serious heat on the side vent, though. I'm not too concerned, though; its got a two year warranty on it, and by that time I'll have made enough money to afford a new desktop of UNSPEAKABLE POWAH!
Anyway, it'll be the first time I'll have a portable device capable of such art-making power and gaming tools wrapped into one (it is a nice perk about being a digital artist, your necessary hardware is also excellent for gaming, I mean.)
I'll be getting a copy of Battlefield 3 in a couple of days for some online shooter excellence with my friends. I'll post my Origins account if anyone is interested.
By the way, I have a Wacom Cintiq tablet I'm selling, Like-New with box and all components, for $700. Interested buyers can note me for details.
