Yes I'm fully aware of the myth and how it went down. Don't you find it a bit curious that the victim was punished? Bear in mind that the culture was male centric, so is it not possible that the myth was about men overcoming the thing that both aroused and scared them with their desire? Once overcome and conquered the head was used to defeat another monster (possibility the earlier matriarchial society ) and get the more desirable girl? Perhaps it's about getting sexual experience and learning how to conquer/please the woman?

Lots of ways to go with this. That's why the story endures. :)

I don't because basically all Greek myths roll this way. The victim (generally female) is almost always punished while the perpetrator (generally a god) goes about his merry way. Personally I always figured the Greeks were a bunch of misogynists.

the greeks were messed up. seems like everything usually involved something found in a acid flashback. THree grey women that have one eye between them.

Remember also that the Greeks were so male-oriented that sex between men was preferred, as it was sex between equals; a male having sex with a female was either exclusively for procreation, or was effectively (or actually) rape, since the woman was worthless. The exception were the priestesses of a goddess, and the males who had sex with them were coupling with a surrogate of the goddess... usually to ask a boon.

That is a case of reading between the lines for sure. Just like the first minotaur was into eating both males and females. One could build a case he was into both guys and gals and suck and fuck them all to death. Now that is a great way to go.
