Usually you can figure out by going to pawn shops if the items were stolen. Pawn shops usually are checked by police but you can do it as well. For one all the electronics have S/N's on them, so you could look that way. Also see if your parents have Homeowners insurance. if they do, you can get reimbursed for the stolen items usually.

that sucks, did they take any cell phones or anything cause if they did depending on who is the carrier wait a week and download if your lucky it may download a photo of one of them because some people are dumb like that and take pics of themselves and then you download all the info and there pic comes to your phone

Although I myself have never been robbed (Thank God: I've forgotten to lock my apartment i don't know how many times), but my best friend has been, and I've seen the paranoia, the fear, the crying, all of it. I myself are experiencing similar things: My dad recently had a stroke, and I'm also going through the stress, the financial strain, and being constantly at the point of not knowing whether the knot in my stomach is from hunger, indigestion, or being sick with worry.

I hope those scumbags are caught, and hopefully you'll get your stuff back. Although, not to make things worse, but thieves usually sell what they have stolen, most of the time on the black market, so I doubt you'll get any possessions(though you might get how much it all was worth back, if they're caught and linked to your case). That's what happened to my friend: the thieves took his stuff, sold it on the black market. they were caught, but since it was sold anonymously, they couldn't get his stuff back.
