yeah, i was really suprised when i heard it this afternoon,was watching cnn, and the first one was abotu uncomfirmed reports then a few minutes later it was confirmed.

In better news, when they mentioned it on a local Country station, the people calling in were universal in their loathing of Mr. Phelps and his followers' bigotry. (no religion in this post, since religion has little to do with the insanity of those shitheads, except to put a frame around it)

CNN said he was found dead in Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment.

TMZ is reporting that Heath wasn't found at Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment, he was found in his own apartment, by his cleaning lady, who entered Heath's room when he didn't respond when Heath's masseuse arrived for a scheduled appointment.

The masseuse had a friend who was an EMT and worked as M-K's bodyguard and M-K's apartment was just blocks away while the cleaning lady called the police.

(What I'm hearing on CNN from "Hollywood-types", is that he's not really known as a boozer or a pill-popper and he was quite "happy" about his recent work on The Dark Knight (though it was "challenging") and he was already filming another movie with Terry Gilliam in London, who he worked with before on The Brothers Grimm)

Accidental OD most likely, as this little tidbit would likely indicate...

It was just one of those things that I see that makes me sad...or bothers me in some way. So I posted. Maybe it's the idea that someone can have the world literally at the feet, be in the prime of life and totally healthy and happy...and suddenly it's all gone. That kind of thing just freaks me out. I also got news the same day that a friend of mine was in the hospital with a mild heart attack (although that news came later that evening). Just feeling mortal, I suppose.

But I understand what you mean--people get caught up in celebrity deaths (or fucked up lives) when they really have no connection to the person. I'm not devastated or anything...but it does make me sad.

Sorry to hear that, but life goes on.

The police report that I heard on TV was that nonprescription sleeping pills were found near his bed, which are very unlikely to cause an OD death. A retired drug counsilor said, "Suicide is almost always a permanant solution to a temporary problem." If those pills were diphenhydramine, I doubt that they were the cause of death.

Autopsy's tomorrow i heard on FOX. so FOX will get out whatever is more truthful than CNN - without spinning anything. I liked his Knight's tale movie. never saw the others though. I rented it again not just a week ago.

First of all I agree with deathpup that it is indeed tragic and most likely was a really shitty mistake.

But I would also like to remind people to respect pups position of not dragging religion into his posts anymore as it has drawn up some rather bad comments for him... it's really stupid but you know...

Instead I think we should more or less concentrate if only for a brief moment considering I doubt any of us knew him on a personal level and agree that yes life sucks and it ends. Often in really unfair stupid ways.

Being a really horrible insomniac myself I can probably guess where he went wrong. After two or so days of no sleep, you start to lose cohesion with your thoughts and things flit about really badly. After about three days if you fall asleep the night terrors may or may not begin which further encourages remaining conscious. After five or six days you start to hallucinate really badly and make really bad decisions just to make everything stop and find some really good sleep. Past that I don't know because after that I was unconscious from Thursday 12:28 pm until Saturday 11:46.

this was months ago thankfully I'm better now, but just to let you know. Stupid shit happens with insomnia and this was most likely a horrible accident.

Before we take it any more out of bounds just realize that this story will be dragged through the mud for months perhaps years, the point remains.

Please don't drag religion on deathpups journal he stated his intent last journal "all respect to the above who already have, it's an honest mistake but we should respect him now, open up your own if you will."

I'm torn between being really sad about this, and wondering why people can be so caught up in one person's death when thousands of other people around the world are dying unnecessarily. I don't mean to politicize it, but, you know, it just comes to the front of my mind: do we have the right to mourn the death of just one person, who has already proven his worth to humanity at large, and who, due to his celebrity status, we can say we are artificially close to, when many many more are experiencing just as bad a deal?

It's still a sad turn of events, in any case. I just heard he had a daughter; if he committed suicide... why?

I don't think it was suicide, really. Just a mistake...which just seems really tragic. A guy who wants to die dying is sad--but a guy who doesn't want to die and dies is tragic.
