hehe and here they didn't think they would have shakers in the middle of nowhere.... Here in the NW we get small ones that you hardly feel every week or so...
It's the same here get a few a day that aren't felt. It's just really unusal that with in a years time we have had a good half dozen that have been felt with this latest one comeing in at 5.6 which is now the strongest on record for the state. Would really hate to see one hit at the 6.0 or bigger. We don't have earth quakes in our building codes here since it's such a rare ocurance.
kind of like the 200 year storms we have three years in a row... a few years back. At lest here on the island we don't have to worry to much about flooding...

Two in the morning I felt the shake. It felt like a low altitude Chinook chopper. I didn't think too much of it since there is an air force base north of me and news and police chopper frequent my area. Then the air pressure pulsed suddenly like firing a potato Canon. I was sitting on a bad chair anyways so I was doubting myself that I felt a sensation like a one hundred yard square by three yard deep slab of concrete 'jump' and I started looking for structural shift cracks in the drywall.
I chalked it up to delerium and a low flying chopper until family told me.
