Cat health problems, advice?
My cat has been having some problems the last 3-4 days. At first she was just kind of dry heaving.
Now, her regurgitating her food is normal. She's a "competitive" eater and I've managed to drastically cut down on how often she regurgitates her food so she hasn't done it a while. Now it is more like a very heavy heaving-coughing - the deep-throated kind and it has been worrying me. I thought it was a hairball but after a couple days she hasn't thrown up anything.
Just two days ago I got some hairball remedy but it says it should take 1 week for it to eliminate a hairball (if there is even one). She still hasn't thrown up anything. Should I take her to the vet or try to wait it out to see if it is a hairball? I think I am going to call the vet anyways today and see what I can find out about it.

Just as a reference, you can give your cat plain petroleum jelly to ease hairball passage.
Some of them like the taste and others hate it. But it's safe and doesn't cost very much.
I wish you luck, my friend.
