Livestream Multiviewer
I was recently asked by
Artie if I could write something that would allow him to watch multiple livestream shows in the same window. So I spent the majority of yesterday writing this: http://stampydragon.com/multistream/
It's a webpage which allows you to add livestream windows to it, as well as choose their sizes. To add a channel, simply type the name of the channel into the box in the top left, and click Add Channel. You can repeat this for as many streams as you want, and you can also close a stream again by hitting the close button to the top right of each stream. One other small feature, is that you can click the copy URL button to create a URL to allow you to share the current channels, with the options currently listed in the boxes. For example: http://stampydragon.com/multistream.....qsdrawingboard
I know a few people have been wanting something like this for a while, so hopefully it'll be useful to people.
Let me know what you think.

Interesting :) though would livestream be cool with such a program?

I don't see why they wouldn't be. It's not really a program anyway. Livestream provides embed code for any stream, this is just using their own provided embed code as a base and using a form to input the name of the stream(s) into it to populate a page of multiple streams you'd like to see. It's not doing anything sneaky! :)

Good stuff then :)

Yeah they'ed be fine with it. They actually offer a lot of tools for stuff like that. There's even an API you can use to get a lot of information. All I use that for at the moment is changing the "livestream" button on my website to display an icon to tell people there's a stream live at that moment in time.

Next thing we need is a Firefox addon or desktop app that will tell you which streams you're 'following' are currently live, and notify you when it detects one just went live...

That's a pretty awesome idea, it's bound to be useful for a lot of people.

Thanks!
