(Mini-Series Update/Info)
I can tell you, that when the show resumes production... The mini-series will be once again, a 5 part series. (Since that was easiest to produce for us.) It will take place some time after the ISS Sudrian returned home. In which it will be refitted and made to look like a cross-generation vessel. Using both TOS and TNG style components. (The model is already completed and the main bridge is 99% done.) The series will feature some of the same cast from the first mini-series as well as adding some new characters.
I can say without a doubt, that Dr. Aron will be back and so will Subcommander, er, Captain Asha'l. I'm hoping that Major Reon will also join us again. Unfortunately, Ensign Shaw will not be back. As she is now living out of state. So will need to add another female character somewhere, to prevent the show from being a total sausage fest. LOL
There are also plans to bring in technology in the series, that was shown once or twice in canon trek and then never mentioned again. Like the Holographic Communication System for the bridge.
There will also be a Gay themed story-line. One which will hopefully be well received by the audience. And yes, there will be kissing! Just want to get that out there. I have received lots of feedback on the topic of having gay characters. Some positive, and some negative. I listened to both sides and after reviewing statistical data on who actually watched the first mini-series back when we introduced gay characters. The numbers spoke loud and clear. In fact, one scene alone was enough to bump our numbers way up into the thousands. You might remember the scene (where Major Reon and his lover are talking to each other over subspace).
The mini-series will also feature new uniforms for the crew. The background characters however, will still be in the DS9 style. While the main cast will be in TNG style. I know this might sound crazy and maybe confusing. But the TNG uniforms are better made and have much more color. Which is what we want. Just think of it as ST:Generations in reverse. LOL Eventually we will phase out the DS9 outfits as time goes on.
