At least she's already out of the hospital. Took way less time than you were expecting initially, so that's a good sign :3

Man, sorry I haven't really been able to talk. It's good to hear some news on her and hope she is coming along okay. *hugs*
But I hope she can get the prosthetic as soon as its feasible. I don't think she knows me but either way send her my regards, she is in my thoughts!

No worries - I know you're busy :)

She's grateful for the well wishes, and she does know who you are (from the London trip pics mostly ;)) so she actually knows who they're coming from. We're hoping she'll progress to prosthetics soon, too, but for now it's mostly waiting game on that. Still, she's already progressed a lot already so who knows? :)

And out of curiosity why does she need to wait for a prosthetic, is it mostly for healing and rehabilitation?

Well, it turns out that getting a prosthetic is a much more involved process then you'd think. First her leg needs to fully heal, then it requires tight wrapping to get it in a proper shape for a prosthetic to fit well, and mom needs to learn to deal with her balance first as well as gaining strength in the leg she has left. In the meantime, they're teaching her to get around in a wheelchair/on crutches/with a walker so that she can regain a significant amount of mobility/freedom before all that :)

I must admit that none of us new that before...well...now. I actually thought learning to walk with it was the main issue, but that's just another step. Preparation for one also takes a crapload of time and effort.

Ah okay thought it might be some of those things, makes sense, but wasn't really sure what was involved. Well, hope she gets along well/quickly there at least, she seems to have been recovering quicker than expected :)

Great to hear, Raziel! That's definitely good news! Here's to wishing your mum a speedy recovery!

Fortunately, her recovery is quite speedy so far, so we're hoping the current trend holds. The barrage of international well-wishes can't hurt either ;)

I absolutely adore your mom, and I'm so very glad to hear this. I still say that I'm going to come visit and take a walk with her! Many challenges ahead, yet I'm certain of her ability to conquer them all. My love to one and all.

She's a really sweet person...there's actually no-one I can think of who doesn't take an immediate liking to her on first meeting (even if there's something of a language barrier) :)

She's looking forward to that, she hopes you don't mind too much wonky English, though ;D

So far it all went well, fortunately (see my new journal) :) - it was hugely tiring with everything that had to be done, but at least pretty much everything was arranged so we're done with most of the paperwork etc. for now.
