The head office constantly send down new ways of doing things, new things to do and updates to software which are absurd and stupid.

I'm studying for a Masters in this actually, and yes I have to agree that most of the practices I see implemented in multinationals are rediculous.. and in this case I agree with your initial statement. However, as much as they would like to think so, a corporations internal society and methods are not a good reflection on humanity as a whole. If we look at society objectively and see the hive of warlike self interested neanderthals that mankind truely is, then its a wonder to me how society even exists to begin with. But there it is, and we are still capable of such incredible feats of ingenuity. As tough as things seem now we enjoy higher standards of living then ever before in our past. Indeed I remain optimistic that the intelligence of the few will be mankinds ultimate salvation from its primal self. I am happy to add.. this is opinion, only time will truely tell. We are a WIP. Til then.. chinup PangoPan!! ^^
