Free raffles are fine but payed raffles could be considered gambling which could get the site in trouble. Some people work around that by doing raffles where they offer cute little art for a dollar as 'tickets' then raffle a real prize. Then it is a free raffle and people are buying little art. Just thought I'd clarify so you understand n.n!

Eh, it's not really worth it. It'd be easier to just sell 1$ sketches than to hold a raffle where you buy a 1$ sketch raffle "ticket" etc. ^u^;

My elementary school had a yearly raffle. Considering I'm in DC and it's considered the best elementary school in DC I don't see how this could really be a bad thing.

The laws vary state by state and since F.A. is international they need to be mindful of the laws.

Also, your school raffle was probably considered charity. Many states allow raffles for charity but none purely for recreation/gambling.

I don't need a refund. And yeah I think free raffles are not against the TOS.

Hmm. I could have worded that better.

I was talking about the commission raffles that are so common on FA. I don't think the rules are broken because they are free to enter so there is no financial gambling. And the artist still gets money from the winner.

I guess another option would be to bid for spaces on a sketch.
