Trip to, heave and ho; Up, down, to and fro- You have no word
You guys know about my CAATS badges, yes?
Well, I havent exactly been advertising them as much as I should(They are still open, heh), but upon looking around at other badge prices, i'm wondering whether I should raise my prices. My CAATS are incredibly detailed and it does add up to buy custom colours for thread, as well as laminate supplies and pencils.Not to mention, the badges on average are usually over 7 inches long!
I'm asking you all your honest opinions, whether $15 dollars is too little for a badge such as this. If too little, please give an honest opinion based on what you've seen from me and the other badges you've seen for sale, at how much they ought to be worth. I may use your advice to help me decide on whether to bump 'em up a little bit.
To make things fair if I do decide to raise the prices, I will offer my watchers the discounted price($15) until december or something.
Also, does anyone show interest in 'em? Just curious. xD Even if you can't afford or don't wanna pay, it's nice to know if people like the idea of my badges. :3

The "inspiration" part of my title here is the fact that i've come up with a new type of CAATS badge. It's still a WIP and i'm not sure how they will turn out, but they are MINI CAATS. Titled "Tummy Aches", these badges are about half the size of the normal CAATS, at around 4 inches tall. They will feature your fursona/character in a random/derpy expression and stitched together like a normal CAATS badge. For these, I was thinking about pricing them around 8$, like my chibi badges. (I might even raise the price of the chibi badges, but for now they stay the same.)
What do you guys think? Should I post up some sketches of what i've got thus far? :)

Wow, i'm honoured you'd say they are worth 25. It would definitely help me out, but we'll see what others say about the pricing too. I want to find a happy middle ground for people who are interested in them. :)
Oh no, no offence taken dude! Just because i've got watchers doesn't mean I expect 'em to buy my badges and stuff. In fact I appreciate the honesty and i'm glad you still chose to offer your advice.
And yeh, I figure, some people wanted the CAATS badges, but they couldn't afford it.. and although these still cost money, they'd be a bit more affordable. And they are essentially just as detailed, just smaller. :) Will post shortly!
imo they are at the very least. heh many rest of my furred brethren here don't share the same idea as me ;p lol they will want you charge cheaper >.>
^ ^ es no problem, you are mine friend and just trying to help as best as can, don't want people to take advantage of. tell you what, you start making jelly badges one day and I'll buy a couple from ya full price :3 whatever you want charge ^ ^

I also think if you price the Tummy Aches at $8, you could probably get away with a more stylized look, and slightly less detail, than compared to the larger size. First of all, it'd probably be a lot of work to get the detail at that small a size, and secondly, if you put in the same amount of detail as in the large one, then you should probably charge at least a couple dollars more.
:3 Just my two cents. They're amazing pieces of work (and if you do go forward with the Tummy Aches, I think I'm going to have to snag one from you! Oh, and the Alfie one you made me is going to MFF with me next weekend, I'll advertise you! xD )
I dunno, You know, it's like, i want to be fair to both me and to my customers, so I don't want to charge too much. But at the same time, it takes a lot of work and I put my absolute best into every badge. If I do go up to 20-25, I don't think i'd ever raise the prices of them past that. I don't want to ever become greedy with my work. :)
Yeah, the tummy aches! xD I was at a coffee shop and I just started popping out these chibis with the CAATS style, they are just more compact and a bit less stylized, so that works. I did draw an example one of this unicorn who is just as detailed as the CAATS, like really little and really detailed, but as you said, maybe that could be an upgrade feature of some sort.. Like, I could offer normal tummy aches for 8 and deluxe tummy aches for 10. Haha, deluxe tummy ache. |3
