General
I began running on 10/12
Ran my first 5k on 10/29 in 31:02 219 lbs
Amped up my running from 15 miles per week to 30 miles per week
Ran my 2nd 5k on 11/6 in 28:30 (-2:32) 214 lbs
Started speed training and longer runs
Ran my 3rd 5k on 11/12 in 27:21 (-3:41) 208 lbs
3 weeks ago i set my goal to be sub 27:30 by Turkey trot on thanksgiving, I smashed that 2 weeks prior to when I set that goal. When you set your goals and work your ass off to attain it, anything is possible. WHEN YOU WANT TO QUIT KEEP GOING! Running especially is a mind game. Back in January I was 281 pounds, I never thought by November I'd be running 3.1 miles in 27.5 minutes. Im posting this for those who might be struggling with any kind of goal in their life. I set my goals high and my expectations higher. Keep on chugging!
