Hmm :/ bit of a bad spot to be in, i can imagine there being nothing worse than that, however! If blowing it won't move it then bite the bullet and send it away to get it cleaned, it will probably not even cost a tenth of what a new camera would cost.

Better to be safe than sorry too, if you want to get by have you tried doing a dust reference photo? it can sometimes help the camera reduce the effects of it, oh and also waht camera do you have? Just the canon camera's shake the sensor a minute amount when you turn it off, try doing that a couple of times, it may help dislodge the hair.

I have the Canon Digital Rebel XT, they didn't implement the self sensor cleaning untill the XTi and 40D cameras.

Unlucky! Although i must admit, i sometimes prefer the older ones, for instance i have the Nikon D50, i cant get away with the D40 or D40x though, i get too used to the LCD on the top of the camera and the firm shutter motion.

Well you can try to see if there is an end of it somewhere far away from the sensor and try to pull it out with a tweezers... Have you already tried to put it upside down and shake a bit to see if the gravity actually work on it XD

I'm a little leery about trying something like that. When I saw it inside, it was a very tiny piece of hair, but enough to go over one corner of the sensor.

Other'n the standard advice of holding the body with the lens-mount pointing down and using the blower, I can't offer much advice... other than never-ever touch the sensor. But you knew that already!
