I'm like a ninja, sneaking onto wifi at six in the morning so my parents don't know
So later today my family's headed up to Maryland for the funeral; I'm not sure how it'll go. My dad's sort of the black sheep of the family. Not only does he live in NC but he's a... le gasp... liberal!!!
My aunt (his younger sister) was a captain in the Air Force and now is "retired," but she's given me and my siblings gifts with the logo of a "military contractor" on them... hmmm... She's the one making the funeral arrangements, and didn't even call my dad to let him know his mom had died! So that tells you the state of things. Sigh.
As far as Internet access goes, I probably won't have any for a few days. And when (if) I'm able to get online for more than a half-hour at a time, look out for these:

only my mom didn't actually die >..> just had a near-lethal run in with a highly-contagious disease... 4 times.
... the only reason i found out is my "inside contact" in the family, my cousin-in-law, since we get along (and STILL talk weekly!). but she decided (against family wishes) that i should know my mom could die. again. after the 3rd time.
