What about one of those stands you set your laptop on that blows more air into the bottom?
I remember my cousin had an over heating problem. He Got some cardboard a fan and some duct tape. As long as the external fan was going it didnt have any problems.

I got myself an external laptop cooler. Used to do the trick, but not anymore. And feeling where the heat is building up, I -know- it's an unusual problem with the heating.

Before, the heating problem would be just in the corner where my graphics card is, but now it's under the left half of my keyboard in addition to the aforementioned corner.

Yeah my cousin used a little 120V fan from an industrial printing press. ^^
