I know it's a shame, but we can't live forever can we? I wrote up an article this past Veterans' Day about The Kaiser, the only pigeon to serve in both WWI and WWII. He also became the oldest living pigeon in history (33-34 years old). Other famous WWI pigeons include President Wilson, who flew one of the most dangerous missions and lost a leg and was wounded in his chest (but still delivered the message), Cher Ami who saved 82 American Troops, lost a leg (the leg that the canister was on was dangling by a tendon) and The Mocker (who flew 52 missions and lost his left eye and part of his skull on his 52nd).
